WoW Token Was Temporarily Disabled

Thanks for your patience!

I don't have an exact answer, but I don't expect this to be a long-term downtime or anything. We hope to have a fix in an hour or so pending a disaster, but, again, I can't be 100% sure and just want to stress I don't have an official ETA.

Tokens should have just gone back up.

Thanks again for your patience everyone!

Patch 7.2.5 - Arms/Fury and Draught of Souls Changes

Arms/Fury and Draught of Souls
For Arms and Fury Warriors, we’re going to scale down the damage of Draught of Souls in the next build for the 7.2.5 PTR.

Specifically, we’re aiming for a roughly 40% reduction in the effectiveness of Draught of Souls. For those two specs, it’s a trinket that is extremely valuable due to its interaction with Battle Cry. We’ve already tuned other forthcoming on-use trinkets that drop in Tomb of Sargeras for Arms and Fury with the same modifier to compensate for Battle Cry’s effectiveness in boosting trinkets of this kind. Our goal is for new trinkets to have more similar power levels between various specs, while leaving Draught of Souls in a place where it remains competitive for Arms and Fury.

We’re making sure to consider this trinket change as we update Warriors in Patch 7.2.5. With this in mind, Fury damage has been increased by 5% across the board. Arms is currently in the middle of receiving some heavy mechanical changes which will require a deeper look into their overall performance, and we’ll account for this change when we do our final tuning.

We don’t want Draught of Souls to define DPS Warriors for the remainder of the expansion, but we do want Warriors who have one to be able to make good use of it as they progress through Tomb of Sargeras.

Thank you for all of your feedback!

  • Artifact Knowledge can now be researched to a maximum level of 40 (was 50).
    • Developers’ Notes: We raised the Knowledge cap from 40 to 50 very late in the 7.2 PTR cycle, out of an abundance of caution: We wanted to ensure that players of all playstyles, as well as alt characters, would view the Concordance trait as accessible. However, between the additional Artifact Power gains added in 7.2 and others that were hotfixed in after the patch released, we’re now well ahead of that mark. Knowledge 40 now seems more than sufficient for players to reach Concordance, and the prospect of months’ worth of additional Knowledge still left to research makes some players feel like their efforts in the interim aren’t meaningful. Therefore, we’re rolling the cap back to 40.

Player versus Player
  • Deepwind Dunk is now 15 minutes long, and each player killed during Deepwind Dunk awards 5 points.
  • Paladin (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator / Artifact Calculator / PvP Talent Calculator)
    • Attacking a Judged target will now cause Judge Unworthy to only spread that target's Judgment, instead of all your nearby Judgments.
    • Judge Unworthy can now spread Judgment to targets that are under the effects of crowd-control abilities.
    • Damage from Lawbringer can no longer cause Judge Unworthy to spread Judgment.

UI
  • Players using Korean and Chinese clients can now chat in public chat channels on the Broken Shore.

Community-run tournaments directly impact which teams end up in the Arena World Championships, as all approved community-run events award points. If you’re interested, here’s what you should do: read the guide, fill out the application form and send in it to us. If you have any questions about running your own event, get in touch. We’re here to help and want you to create as many community events as it’s possible to have.

There’s a Shadow relic with the trait you’re looking for, dropped by a boss whose name rhymes with "Lil Maiden". (WarcraftDevs)

7.2 patch notes says you can right click class tokens to give you a set item. Not working with ICC tokens. Intended or bug?
This is intended. The ICC tokens are valid for multiple slots, so you'll still visit the vendor to choose the one you want. (WarcraftDevs)

Which leads to a lot of the coolest rewards being easily attainable, thus making getting a really cool skin, or mount not feel rewarding as it was trivial to get, and everyone has it.
I’m a big fan of exclusive, prestige rewards for the best players. Having something that aspirational has benefits I believe even for players who have little chance of ever earning them.

That said, I don’t think it’s the right design to have great rewards for the best players and only hopes and dreams for everyone else.

If you unpack player motivations for earning a piece of content, they usually fall out into buckets like this:

  • I want to show off what a bad ass I am.
  • I want to express what kind of player I am.
  • The content has power and I need it to stay competitive.
  • It’s something fun.

Bullet 1 is definitely there to serve the top percent of players. Bullet 2 is less about recognition and more about communicating to other players about who I am. I’d be careful about locking those kind of rewards away to the top percent. You can get away with locking up a little bit of power under the justification that it gets more relevant at the more competitive upper end of the player base, but you have to be careful. Bullet 4 is where it’s easy to get into trouble where players are just in love with something (and not just because it symbolizes achievement). For category 4, I’d make the rewards highly available. Build of the Month - May 2017
Each month or so we will post a couple of hardware setups for those of you who are thinking of upgrading their computer!

All of the parts on this page are Amazon affiliate links. When you purchase your parts through them it helps support the site!

This month
The current SSD prices are fairly flat right now, with most SSDs under $0.50 per gigabyte when on sale.

Depending on how much you want to overclock, you may need to spend a bit more for a better CPU cooler like the NH-D15.

Unless you are doing a lot of video rendering or streaming, you do not need the 7700K and would get more performance from spending that money elsewhere.

Make sure to keep your AMD and Nvidia drivers up to date.
