Ah, but why would you buy a Honda just to take out it's old parts and put in higher-performance parts? Because you're a bike enthusiast who knows that they're doing, and want a high-performance bike that beats the average stuff out there.
People don't always build rigs for performance purposes because not all PC builders are PC enthusiasts. There are many who want to spend as little time/effort/money as possible on building a machine that will simply do the job - which usually means sticking with the stock cooler

Ok ok, I'll post my pre-new rig setup.
Before you see the images, the reason I don't have the front of the case on is because getting that fan that's on it on the inside of the case would be nearly impossible and extremely difficult, so I just go without the front of it. Side is off for added movement of air since my computer case sucks and isn't fancy at all.

This thing started out as a Gateway DX4710-09
    Intel Dual-core E5200 2.5ghz x2
    6 gigs DDR2 RAM
    600 GB HDD
    Gateway 22" monitor
some of the additions or changes I've made....
Cooler Master Hyper 212 CPU heatsink/cooler
    PNY XLR8 9800 GeForce GT 1gig GDDR3
stupid case came with 0 fans installed on it, so I got 2 80mm Antec blue LED fans
    Corsair TX 650 Watt
    Dell 17" monitor
    Razer Death Adder mouse
    Logitech G15 keyboard
    Plantronics Gamecom headset

My future case will be a HAF X 942, going from the worst to the best imo.

oh and yes, my computer has horrible cable management, trust me, there's no way to make it any better than that.

Yet again i see some stupid remarks to my stock cooler. Yet again i will say its not going to be overclocked as of yet. And i will say again it wont need doing untill about a year.

Also its extremley cool as it is. 30 degress at the moment hardley hot.

Stock heatsinks and fans do the job untill overclocking is needed. I dont intend to waste a good 50 60 uk pounds on somthing that wont be needed.

Nah, It's fine. The BCLK only hinders or causes problems at high frequencies(aka 106+ typically), at least with 104.5 I can get a higher RAM frequency while getting a higher CPU frequency.

My board can go to 106 without any issues but... that's a little high for my tastes Higher binned boards are said to be capable of 107-108.

Was meaning to put some photos up on my rig a while back, same night i was taking photos i dropped hot chocolate in my pc. My motherboard found it within itself to die, anyway changed the build somewhat due to that :|

    Corei7 920 @ 4ghz
    Corsair H50 in push pull
Asus Sabretooth X58 TUF (Might be hot chocolate resistant!)
    2x 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F1/F3 in RAID 0.
4GB DDR3 OCZ 1600mhz 9-9-9-24 (1 chip was DoA, havent been bothered to replace it yet).
    Nvidia Geforce GTX470 @ 712/1424/1806
    Corsair TX650 PSU
    Logitech G11 Keyboard
    Coolermaster Storm Scout case
Microsoft Intellieye 3.0 (Always come back to this mouse no matter what i do)
    Logitech G930 Wireless Headset
24 inch Benq G2420HD (PC, 360 and Ps3 connected into it)

Few pics, won't do a full desk shot; compared to all your lovely clean tidy desks, mine looks like a nuke has hit it :]

Next on list for me is a new PSU (modular, TX650 is a great psu, just get a huge jumble of cables) and another GTX470 for SLI.

Running a laptop for now, I'll get a proper rig in a few weeks when I get the coin. Binder divider mousepads are win.

That is a microcontroller, hooked up to the tin foil wrapped bottle :] Basically what it does is measure the level of liquid within the bottle using two bits of foil on either side of the bottle. One grounded, one linked into the microcontroller digital in. It then measures the capacitance and how long it takes to drain through a 1 ohm resistor to give a percentage of how much liquid is in the bottle. Its actually surprisingly accurate, and taken me the best part of months to come to a working solution :< Bloody nightmare! Part of my University final project!

Found the desktop on google somewhere, can't remember where i got it now though, think i used something generic like bleach backgrounds 1920x1080.

    1st Gen MBP

    2.1GHz Core Duo
    2GB 667MHz ram
ATI X1600 (currently in the dieing process)
    250GB HDD
    15 inch screen size

I run wow in low settings and in windowed mode. I find that gets me 20-40 FPS, aka playable in all zones.

This summer ill upgrade to a Sandy Bridge custom PC.
