can't wait to start seeing raid invasions in wow >.>
Thank god for those Engineering Strings, finally get to find out what on earth that gnomish gravity well does
By "raid boss" I hope they mean the end boss of a raid? I mean, I get that the heroics and rated BGs would be easier than that, but the raid challenge gives 3 MILLION guild xp, rated BGs give 1.5 mill and heroics a measly 300k. I really think that the raid challenge should require Nef/Cho/Alakir for completion to justify such a massive XP reward (or gold reward at cap).
Blizzard's whole modus operandi is to look at what other games do, copy it, integrate it, and polish it to an exceedingly high standard within their own games. The last time they genuinely invented a new mechanic was sometime back during the lost viking era. I'm not complaining -- its a legitimate strategy, and it results in some very good games. WoW raised the bar for the whole industry. But when people complain 'Rift is just a wow clone', i have to presume they're trolling since it only takes an IQ of 50 to see the irony.
The challenges are a good start, who the hell seriously even wants shit like fish 1,000,000 trouts from schools of fish?
Me likey easy challenges that can be done and have a social life on the side.
Guild Challenge: Kill a mob while in a group
You win ze prize !!!!
FFS a real guild challenge would be:
Guild Challenge: Get 40 people from your guild to go and kill 200 enemy faction in less than one hour once the raid is started
Guild Challenge: You have one hour to send one guild member to each flight path from the same continent. Challenge is completed when all FPs have a guild member in proximity under 60 minutes
Guild Challenge: Have 25 level 1 characters run from Stormwind to Booty bay. All 25 must be in the booty bay tunnel at the same time and must have walked all the way. Challenge needs to be completed in less than 40 minutes
You that kind of fun real challenges...not something like a simple quest as in "win 5 matched in a BG with guildies" that is not a challenge that is a quest.
To be fair, the Elemental invasions in old vanilla as well as the opening events for Naxx (I think) with the undead invasions were essentially raid invasions. Just a lot less intrusive as the ones in Rift as I understand it.
People initially liked them, but after a few times they just got in the way of getting your alt leveled.
So every1 already thinks that those challenges are useless.
So let's say:
You argue with guild leader about something, you got kicked.
You, and few people that left guild after that incident, make new guild.
You are already grinding current raids.
And these challanges are perfect for such guilds, that want to become high level, without more time spend on leveling alts.
Also, are you all blind or what?
Each guild challange completed will reward guild experiance beyond the daily cap.
And of course no one had an idea that these challanges can be diffrent, for each guild level.
who wants to bet how many patches will take till aoe looting?
i'm loving these changes this patch might make me actually play more, with the guild challenges and such, but does anyone know if the guild rep tabards are still being implemented into the game? i saw that in the early early patch notes. If someone has any info on it that would be great.
