    The PGA Tour Thread

Discussions about professional golf can occur here. YES!!! Right in this thread.

    Enjoy.

OT: I really can't wait to wake up tomorrow (oops today) and watch the US Open, really wanting to see who is going to take the lead in the first round.

    Yeah,,, me too.

As usual, I want a amateur to at least make the cut. After than, cheering for any American. First time I really
    don't have any favorites.

Wilson, Donald, lefty, Toms are strong. Choi is red hot atm. <-- EDIT. why I dont bet on golf.

Its's gonna be strange seeing Steve Williams on Adam Scotts bag. Kinda sad.

Woah, McIlroy shot a 65 to take the lead in Round 1. I sure hope he doesn't have another meltdown like that one he had at the Masters earlier.

Yikes! And even though he double bogeyed at 18, he's still -11 through 2 rounds.

Nope, but my dad does. And I do take some time to keep track of scores, even though I'm not even a fan of golf to begin with. (Personally I find golf to be too quiet and too slow-paced of a sport.)

off topic. O man thats too bad. Hawaii golf resorts are so spectacular you dont even care what your score is. Always wondered what the smaller public/munis would be like.

McIlroy is just dominating, I mean 6 shots less than the guy behind him, that's just unheard of for someone his age.

True in many circumstances but it can get very exciting toward the end.

    Right behind baseball.

Golf is more fun to play than watch. But the majors are a must see for me.

Spot on kunah, golf itself is actually great to play but it takes a man to keep his temper through a bad day of it.

If he wins it will certainly be the golf 'feel good' story' of the year. And gods knows, golf could use one these days.

65-66-68 jeesh! Wish he was an American.

He is having an absurdly good weekend. Hopefully he can step up consistently and take the throne from Tiger. Golf needs a consistent champion to boost casual viewership and promote rivalries or hatred within the casual viewers. Without Tiger being good, golf has been in a bad place for awhile. If Rory can maintain this level of play or even close to it, it can only be good for the sport.

Not to take anything away from Rory, but what the hell did they do to the course this season? Scores are way down from previous years. 26 golfers were under par on the course today, a record for the entire history of the event. I have heard the rough is shorter this year, essentially eliminating what has long been a huge thorn in player's scores. Should make for a decent last day of the event, the only day of a gold even I watch.

Probably the wet conditions. Soft/slow greens hold approach shots and makes putting easier. Great conditions to go low.

But yeah, your right he could bring some life back to the tour if he wins.
