Old School Tier Drop Locations

Put this together for my guild, thought I'd share. Figured people could print this out or something if they are trying to gather old tier gear for next patch.

TIER 1 – Molten Core

• Waist and Wrists – BoE – Molten Core Trash
• Chest – Golemagg
• Shoulders – Baron Geddon
• Helm – Garr
• Legs – Magmadar
• Hands – Shazzrah
• Feet - Lucifron

*Check your class on Tier 1, some stuff drops off other bosses depending on your class

TIER 2 – Blackwing Lair / Molten Core

• Helm and Chest – Nefarian - Blackwing Lair (Can get a Helm replica off Onyxia from the Wrath update)
• Gloves - Firemay, Flamegor and Ebonroc - Blackwing Lair
• Bracers - Razorgore the Untamed - Blackwing Lair
• Belt - Vaelastrasz the Corrupt - Blackwing Lair
• Shoulders – Chromaggus - Blackwing Lair
• Boots – Broodlord Lashlayer - Blackwing Lair
• Legs – Ragnaros – Molten Core

TIER 2.5 – AQ40

• Wrist and Shoulders - Princess Huhuran or Viscidus
• Head - Emperor Vek'lor or Vek'nilash
• Legs - Ouro (optional boss)
• Chest - C'thun

TIER 3 – Vanilla Naxxramas / No longer obtainable

TIER 4 – Karazhan, Gruul’s Lair, Magtheridon’s Lair

• Helm - Prince Malchezaar - Karazhan
• Gloves - The Curator – Karazhan
• Pants - Gruul the Dragonkiller – Gruul’s Lair
• Shoulders - High King Maulgar – Gruul’s Lair
• Chest - Magtheridon – Magtheridon’s Lair

TIER 5 – SSC, TK

• Helm - Lady Vashj - SSC
• Gloves - Leotheras the Blind - SSC
• Pants - Fathom-Lord Karathress - SSC
• Chest - Kael'thas Sunstrider - TK
• Shoulders - Void Reaver - TK


TIER 6 – Hyjal, Black Temple, Sunwell

• Gloves - Azgalor - Hyjal

Nicely done, Im thinking that MMO may need a new forum for xmod- as it is general is getting bogged and come 4.3 is gonna be every thread asking the same questions >.<

Maybe sections split by armour type and a weapons ( to make it eaier to sort through) + a general help thread.

Might be nice to add which NPCs trade the tokens for the tier pieces, and where they are located.

The nice thing about being a caster, in most cases, is we don't need to worry about getting pants (or boots sometimes) since it's never shown. =P Thanks for the list though!

We can still access BWL? I remember pre cata i was rushing to get the set on my paladin because I remmeber BWL was getting removed, the shoulders never dropped

Since this is presumably for people farming for transmogrifying next patch I'd add that you can get your T2 helm replica from Onyxia as well if Nef isn't cooperating with you.

There used to be a site function on wow that allowed you to see the various tier armor sets on different toons. Did they remove that? I looked but couldn't find it.

im pretty sure bosses count as trash in MC as far as the bracers/belts go. its entirely possible im wrong but i swear ive gotten the rogue waist to drop off a boss before

this is not correct. different classes have different pieces drop from different bosses.

It sort of works that list till I hit Hands/feet those have got the bosses mixed up for warlocks at least. Rest is right though
