Star Wars: The Old Republic "Review"

So this is something radically different from what I normally do, but after playing the game for approximately 100 hours (Which gave me the idea in the first place) I thought that maybe, just maybe I could judge it and share it with whomever is interested.

Hey it's the first review I've ever done, so bear with me a little bit here!
That aside, I think I covered about everything I thought was worth covering though, at any rate. Was going to do a section on graphics alone, but figured that most people would be able to get an opinion of that after looking at it for 10 minutes.

    Tell me what you think!

    UPDATE:

A video dedicated to Spaaaaaaaace combat and Starships.

    Good job, looks pro
On a totally unrelated side note, I've always seen battlegrounds as gladiatorial arenas where warriors fight in glorious combat to the death. Meanwhile raiding is walking up to someone's house, kicking down the door, kicking the shit out of their family, stealing the mother's pearl necklace then screaming out "ROLL FOR LOOT! LOL!"

Dear god. You made an honest and objective review of swtor!

The prophecy has been fulfilled and we will all die come 2012.

Also, prepare thine self... Trolls a'comith.

But on a more positive note.

This is an excellent recap of what is / is not in swtor and should be sticky'd for new comers.

    Good work.

I am surprised, very nice review, it must be sticked. Very calm, non emotional and unbiased. High five!

I will say, very nice review good sir. My only gripe is you say "so-called" a lot. Not that it's an issue with the review, but the term annoys me for some reason. But even so, I like how professional you were about the review. =)

Haha, I will keep this in mind for the future. I do have a habit of reusing some words a bit.

Thanks a lot of the feedback guys, appreciate it.

Thanks, always appreciate people sharing it. I do hope the review can help persuade your friends a bit, because it's certainly worth it.

Excellent review. Great Quality, and I think what you really hit on was the negative points being mostly subjective and I think that is great as most reviewers tend to simply mark these as true points off it's final score. though I would add to it as well, the biggest negative point to this game is that even though you can go to any planet at 20ish, it's not recomended. Mobs there will eat you alive. The questing is pretty linear but is somewhat acceptable due to the story involved in questing.

If you are a sand box guy, I would steer clear. While there are some neat incentives to go explore, hidden datacrons, rare mobs and world bosses for example, it still comes no where near to the freedom of interaction you get with games like Skyrim or the now defunked Star Wars Galaxies. It replaces those freedoms with a superbly crafted story, combat and other various MMO mechanics ( crafting, PvP etc).

If you have zero interest in story, try it out anyway. This game may have the potential to change your mind, and if it doesn't there is an option to zip through the story without listening to it. Allowing you to still gain light side and darkside points based on your decisions as well as affection points for your companions (your companions will either gain affection or lose it depending on your responses to situations).

Agree with this, I hate, and by that I mean absolutely HATE most bioware games I've played, including ME1,2 and Kotor.

DA1 was ok for a while but I found the combat to be rather awful and characters forgettable.

SWTOR though, really impressed me. There's some stuff that really needs to get fixed, most of them having to do with the UI, but overall it's a great game even for people who are not into the whole bioware thing.
    Monk, I need a monk!!!

UI customization is in the works (as well as PvE & PvP content updates, guild capital ships and extending space combat)
