You could before. However, we've now got a rightwing government, rather than the protective bossom of beloved socialism.
They made some changes to education. Earlier, if you failed, you could get your grades up in a Folkhögskola (which is like a community college, but only a few courses you need to up your grade in) and then you get what you need to apply to a real college.

However, due to recent changes by new government, these "Up'd grades" don't count towards a Uni application, and that whole institute is now unnecessary.

Man, I'd hate to be in your position.
Still, I guess there's nothing you can really do about it, aside from doing your best and hoping for the best.

Drake of the North thingy; Vortex Pinnacle.
Slabhide; Stonecore.
Black War Mammoth; Archavon.
Amani War Bear (How can anyone not have this already?)
The three "World" mounts; Poseidus, Aeonaxx and Grey Riding Camel ... need lots of luck, but still possible.
Blue Qiraji; Archeology (very tedious)
Sandstone Drake (gold)
Spring Strider (Easter stuff in a few weeks)
Twilight Drake - Sartharion (not sure if 10 or 25 but not really hard to get anyway)
Time-Lost Proto Drake (just fly around every now and then)

Leaving out most of the raid bosses and achievements that's still a lot.

Interesting enough, the socialist block has sky-rocketed in support since the last election.
10% higher, even. They're now by far the largest party by voters and are pretty much guaranteed to win the next election.

you can't really solo wotlk Bosses as a Shaman, tried already; and the dropmounts require one: luck... i usually don't have it... only did the new ZA time run a few times before i said "screw this"... always ended up loosing the roll

and some of them i have NEVER seen drop

Rödgröna (Redgreen, socialist parties and the environmental party) is at 50.1% of the votes at the moment.
Alliansen (The Alliance, liberals and conservative parties) is at 43%,
and Sverigedemokraterna is at 5.2%.

Basically, the socialist have a pretty huge lead.

Yeah well you need patience, ofc.
And yeah you need a lot of skill to solo higher stuff as shaman.
Only seen very few shamans be able to pull that off; but you can always go with one or two friends, that opens more possibilities for even more mounts.
Sartharion with two or three people should be no problem at all.
Hell, even Al'Akir is possible to kill with three persons.

Yeah, people aren't keep track of me. And I can't really be expected to care for myself, I'm about as able to care for myself as a 5 year old.
Mentor should babysit me better

Mixed feelings of pride and anxiety. Everybody is so convinced I'll succeed around here (Mentor, teacher etc.) while everybody else get 2 years to do it.
On the other hand I feel extremely discouraged and this seems pretty hopeless.

Seeing how the situation is, aren't they ready to cut you some slack on this? I mean, I actually believe you can do it, I wouldn't say otherwise if I did not, but this seems like too big a thing for them to just go "Well, read and learn, baby. Dealwithit.russianpony".

If you take "you're not quite awesome enough to do this" as "you're bad" then yes.

With the way shamans are set up though, soloing can be a bit of a pain. EJ even has its own thread for shaman soloing.

Well, what else are they supposed to do? Cheat? THey can't grade me on something I haven't done. There's no exceptions.
If you want a grade, you have to do everything included in the course.

Besides reading, doing tests, hitting the walls and drinking a lot of coffee.

No, but Seely's seen only very few shamans soloing ... and judging from the comments and such he's read it's significantly harder to solo the same stuff that e.g. warlocks or hunters are soloing.
Plus it requires huge amounts of patience which you don't seem to have, judging from the mount stuff.
Seely doesn't have all that much either, though.

I don't drink coffee. Chocolate milk is about as strong as my beverages get.

So what?
Seely's gone through tons of other people getting mounts as well, that's what soloing is for.
And more often than not it's not the pet getting beaten the crap out of it, it's not like you can just let your pet do the work and heal it. <.<
