Considering the Twilight Plate set I am looking foward to whatever the Twilight Light Armour set will be, anything designed for either Mesmer or Necro would probably fit a Necromancer pretty well and if it's anything like the plate set it's probably what I am going to be aiming for first with regards to transmutation.

    DAT SWORD!

Holy hell, it's going to be mine.

Edit: It's completely normal for one not to like the armors shown here. You might not like each others tastes.
Honestly I don't like some of these armors, but that might change with different dye schemes. Nightmare is still my favorite so far.

    @Fencers:

While I don't like the Tera-Armor you linked I'm thankful for your opinion in this thread.

It's all a matter of taste and who are we to judge someone because of opinion. You might want to take a look in this forumpost on Guru:
http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/...s/page__st__90 there are a lot of different looking armorsets from the Beta-Weekend and perhaps there is something there for you too. I try to link some of the pics here, but the new forum is kind of strange...

Fencers, arenanet does not want their game to be as insulting as Terra online.

Just look at the men in Tera, it doesn't take much to say that they are very feminine... and I'm gay!

The women in tera are so ridiculously stereotyped that the animations are rather silly, it reminds me of bayonetta.

Tera doesn't focus on armor, it seems to focus on revealing more.
The most important thing to realize is, no matter what you experience you are never alone; no matter what you are struggling through, there is always someone who is more unfortunate.

That's a silly statement. It's not about Tera really. The guy asked what else could armor look like if not adorned with spikes, skulls and flaming bits in MMOs. I obliged w/ screens from 2 different games where armor isn't strictly bound by that motif.

I am not arguing tastes. That would be pointless. Get over it, dudes.

These are nowhere near half of the armor sets in the game..
I did not like them all that much, but it's hard to feel let down by seeing 1/50th of armor sets in the game.

Sorry for late answer, didn't have access to internet during the week.
I had everything at max and used that "high res screenshot" to take the pic, you had to bind it to your keybindings separately.

Managed to take proper screenie of the inquest and orrian medium set too, other armor set pics are heavily bugged. :/

and that weapon in the second picture is the orrian rifle, you can check the other weapon skins here (concept art)

thank you very much! I have really no idea why I couldn't get highest settings. I turned shadows and antialiasing off, yes, but it shouldn't look that bad... this worries me, why can't I play with these nice graphics?!

did it run on dx10? did you have to restart, to make the high-character-textures working?

It says Dx9 in my options so I assume it used that. Not so sure about restarting, I guess it wasn't needed. Didn't pay too much attention to it. :P

Gotta side with Fencers on this one, in a fantasy game it's quite underwhelming seeing the lack of variety in armor sets offered and these leave me feeling unenthusiastic. the sword in one of the pictures looks cool but nothing really me makes me wanna grind those dungeons to complete the look. At least some of you guys seem to like them.

Ok. some of the sets look quite nice but I'm still not sold on just how motivating a purely cosmetic gear-progression system will be.

It's not going to be enough for every type of player. But Anet seems to be going for a play for fun/when you want to type of thing. There isn't going to be a time when your gear falls behind if you aren't playing regularly. GW2 is a casual game in the time commitment sense, imo.

^This plus the fact, Anet wants the power progression to increase from the player, not the gear.

It's not purely cosmetic, think of them as sidegrades.
Like in WoW, items will have a "stat budget", while all max level gear will have the same budget it will be spent differently on different pieces of gear.

One max level sword might have +60 power and +20 precision, while another would have +40 power and +40 precision. The actual difference in the two items won't be great, but will allow you to specialise to whatever degree you want.
