If people really think call me maybe is the same level as friday/hot problems then you need to go and see a doctor because your ears are fucked up.
I mean sure you can hate the genre or style of music, but is in no way a bad song. It's just extremely catchy, that's why it is so popular.

The song is extremely stupid but it definitely catches the ear.
Driving around in my car the other day, the song was played on the radio and I found myself singing along the chorus. Almost bit my tongue there

Just another terrible song to become hot. Secretly more people are laughing at it than liking it, but either way ,the people that made the song are getting paid so, oh well.

As far as pop goes, its not that bad. Unlike basically everything else on the radio now a days, this one is kinda catchy. Not something I'd put on my iPod though.
