    Bah, thank you sir!

I'll post this build in both threads so Marest can also consider it, it's just under $1,400 and pretty damn powerful. ^_<

    Intel i5-3570K - $230
    ASRock Z77 Extreme4 - $125
    G.Skill Ares Blue 8GB RAM CAS8 1600 - $57
    Corsair H80 - $105
    Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB - $90
    Gigabyte WindForce GTX 670 - $400
    Crucial m4 128GB SSD - $120
    SeaSonic S12II 620W Bronze PSU - $87
    NZXT Switch 810 - $170

All comes out to $1,384 and a super strong gaming computer for the price! If you live in the US and can make a drive to a www.microcenter.com store, you'll save a pretty hefty chunk of money on this, certainly about $100~ on the CPU/MoBo combo, possibly more on other parts!!

I'll most likely let the 3570k slip into some of the lower-end builds too at this point and phase out the 2500k even more.

    And... I'm working on a new side-project.
I'm looking forward to seeing the new builds. They have been very helpful in the past. Also looking forward to seeing your "side-project", looks like it will be a good read.

Everything looks pretty good. However i was wondering if there is any cheaper GPU Out there worth buying right now for that kind of setup?. 670 seems like an overkill for my taste of games or any games right now?. My Current GPU is an 5870 Quite old ^^

August 16. If tetrisGOAT's sources were correct, in Sweden it will be priced not too far bellow the 670, so if they follow through with that, that's pretty stupid.

Frankly it's only overkill if you don't feel like having a very smooth gaming experience in just about any game.

Also worth to keep in mind that they start the prices on a very weird level, and they drop within a week to about 1.5x US prices where they usually settle. (Ie, the USD is 6.86 SEK atm~, meaning something costing 200USD might end up costing 2 058 SEK here)

It will likely be too pricy for a mid-range card regardless, as it's basically a GTX 670 with a 192 bit membus rather than 256 bit.
It's otherwise identical (clock speeds, VRAM). If it's any cheaper than the GTX 670 at all, it's a better purchase price/performance in 1080p either way.

I thought it was going to cost $300.

Most likely, yes, but those are speculations. Why?

Read too much in to that sentence and thought you perhaps had heard of some price closer to GTX 670.

How's the progress on the update for the build? My laptop broke down a couple weeks ago and I'm eager to see your updated builds . Thanks for your hard work!

I wouldn't wait for Marest, it could be a bit. I highly suggest you just give us a budget and what you generally want to do with the build and any one of us can give you a build pretty much just as good as his, he is just amazing and made this super-dedicated thread with an awesome logo. :P

Thank you very much. I have budget of around $800 and can extend it to a MAXIMUM of $900, but I don't really want to if it's not necessary. I want to be able to max out WoW, GW2, LoL, and HoN at 1920x1200 resolution. The build needs to go with a Storm Scout case or any case with handles. I might need a monitor, if you think my Samsung 22-inch LED TV won't be good for gaming, so that's up to you to decide . I have everything else (Windows 7 and peripherals). Again, thanks!

Quick question - are those $300 and $400 builds current? I am looking to build a cheap desktop for a family friend for xmas, and that is their budget (it's for their son). I want to get as much bang for their buck as possible.

    Updated.

Most builds overhauled. All prices updated. Peripherals list still not updated, but I'm working on it. Removed SSD examples.

In the Extreme Budget Gaming 450 build, a Pentium G860 is 100 MHz higher than the G850, and only 2 dollars more expensive.

Why isn't the gaming 900 using the same mobo and CPU as gaming 1050?

    Gaming 900
    MoBo: ASRock Z68 Extreme3 – $119.99
    CPU: Intel i5 2500k – $219.99

    Gaming 1050
    MoBo: ASRock Z77 Pro4 – $109.99
    CPU: Intel i5 3570k – $229.99

Also extreme gaming 3400 isn't using quad channel RAM.

Because Z77 is a more improved platform, and the i5 3570K a stronger CPU?

For the 3400, just buy two sets.
