Then theres the Scarlet Crusade monks as well. A lot of the Pandaren monks even wear simplistic gear having no Asian theme what so ever. The only actual asian theme to monks is their fighting styles.
Pandaren existed before the Scarlet Monks, as far as lore is concerned. So it really makes you wonder where those Scarlet Crusade Monks learned it all...

Besides, I think it's pretty safe to say Blizzard's not the greatest at doing things meaningfully and intentionally. Monks in the scarlet crusader weren't really the asian fighting monks that the game is now going to adopt as "The Warcraft Monk." The were more of the "holy monk" type than anything else.

Most of the panties-type pants are mail or plate. No leather dominatrix roleplaying for j00!.

Warbear leather is fairly revealing. Nothing close to the platekinis tho. :P

My monks name is going to be Mako after one of the main characters in The Legend of Korra. I tried my hardest to get as close to the Fire Ferret's gear as I could and ended up with this.

Who is, in turn, named after the voice actor who portrayed Iroh in TLA, and died during production, who also acted in hundreds of other films. If you're going to be named after someone, I'd rather it be the real person.. he was far cooler.

That is true. But after I saw the ferocity that Mako (the character) fought with during the series, I thought that it would match perfectly with the fighting style of the windwalker monk. Although, I did name a cat on my hunter after Mako (the people) who I use all the time along with a core hound named Iroh. It's a small tribute to a man who made my childhood awesome.

Looks like Warbear. I just need a good looking set of leather feet with a sandal look to go with mine.

Please don't act smart. It's all part of the same culture and Warcraft-rogues are more of a swashbucklers than martial arts ninjas. The only thing making them significantly different than warriors is stealth.

Dress a monk in darker leather, put him in his default martial arts fighting pose and he'll always look more ninja than a rogue. Sorry.
(oh and this is coming from someone that has mained a rogue for 7 years and adores the class)

I'm thinking of using this armor with the weapons here.(Yes I know that he doesn't look particularly like a monk but I like it and it fits him being gnome.)

Sorry, I'll have to disagree because stealth assassins are what rogues and ninjas are at the fundamental core. The same can not be said for monks who only use weapons for one move and don't have stealth. "For rogues, the only code is the contract, and their honor is purchased in gold. Free from the constraints of a conscience, these mercenaries rely on brutal and efficient tactics. Lethal assassins and masters of stealth, they will approach their marks from behind, piercing a vital organ and vanishing into the shadows before the victim hits the ground." http://us.battle.net/wow/en/game/class/rogue
"A ninja (忍者?) or shinobi (忍び?) was a covert agent or mercenary in feudal Japan who specialized in unorthodox warfare. The functions of the ninja included espionage, sabotage, infiltration, and assassination, and open combat in certain situations" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NINJA
Saying rogues are swashbucklers is akin to saying monks are spiritual healers.

The four elements, like man alone, are weak. But together they form the strong fifth element: Boron.
