    sigils and dual weapons/weapon swapping

So how does this work? Let's say I have a 2-hander as a primary weapon and two 1-handers as secondary, and all of them have sigils of luck. Do you only get the sigil effect from the active weapon set? If I'm using dual weapons, do the sigil effects stack?

Is there any advantage to using a 2h weapon over two 1 handed weapons then? Because you'd be lacking in sigils...

Just the raw damage + swing arc for melee 2h.

Fro example, I definitely do more damage with a 1h sword than greatsword as a ranger. But the arc of my swing is a lot wider with a greatsword.

Also, move sets. Skills are bound to weapon choice as should be obvious.

Ah so it's more of a 2H do more raw power and are more AoE oriented rather then 1 handers getting 2 sigils to make up for lack of dmg and aoe?

I think so yea. Though 1hs still do more damage on basic attacks for the classes I play; Warrior, Guardian, Ranger, Engineer.

It really seems to just by the swing/utility they bring. Like 2h hammer is pretty beastly hit per hit on my Guardian. But like, 1h sword or mace do just as well comparatively. Then some classes are just different utility sets; Engineer rifle, Warrior hammer.

True but nothing is more annoying thn a fucking hammer guardian xD, and larynx managed to crit someone for 11k with swoop, we thought it was due to signet of the wild and hunt but found out both of those don't give damage to the user (despite having the proper trait).... And I know I've NEVER done that on my ranger with a short sword xD it was quite horrifying...

It seems similar to Age of Conan in that regard where you have the bigger weapons have more of an arc for the splash damage.

I can hit like 6k crits with the 1h sword. Also it's the speed of the 1h that's remarkable. Those CDs are sorta whatever. Most damage in the game comes from auto attack.

If you wanted to micro 1h sword ranger it's like 1*2/some CD.

I've never heard the term "splash" used with an kind of physical attack

Near exclusively used for alchemical or spell effects

Secondary damage if it is piercing or limited target AE. Like a splinter or bramble arrow. Splash if indiscriminate AE, like incendiary shots or bombs/grenades.

So do I. Let's make it a thing. Just start pointing out the fact you are doing splinter damage like whenever possible.

Seeing as how most ranger aoe spells with ranged weapons have splinter in their name... that shouldn't be all that difficult...
