For the life of me I cannot comprehend why someone would call WW single target damage "very high". Presenting no evidence and not even trying to refute simulated or gathered data. Should probably just report for trolling.

I love my ww but yeah look at any fight not just the aoe fest that was presented by the op and ww tops out in the high 70s low 80s.. where most other classes are high 80s to low 90s on avg

I presented a cleave fight, not an aoe fest.

WW dps is middle of the pack on single target, just the cleave that makes the spec unplayable on certain fights.

Cleaving DPS for WW monks is definitely weaker than other classes. The fact of the matter is that we have high enough Single Target damage to make cleaving irrelevant for us.

As always, Damage is relevant to your raid composition and player skill levels. Eliminating all human aspects and sitting on a target dummy means that WW Monk's dps will not be as high because it does not utilize the WW Monk's kit. WW Monks excel on Single target high movement fights (that's where we get our edge) which there seems to be a lot of this tier. For example, WW Monks should dominate Elegon and Spirit Kings compared to other Melee. Utilizing the WW Monk's kit to the maximum potential DPS will make any monk extremely viable for any raid comp. The problem is that only 5-10% of the WW monks out there know how to use it efficiently enough to be relevant. While I agree that WW Monks do not scale as well as other classes with gear, the good ww monks will be able to use the monk "kit" to push the advantage back into their favor. Currently I am always top 5 dps in TM a 4/6 HM guild and know plenty other top end monks who place the same. My armory is below:

Your links prove nothing of what you're saying, and I can provide links that prove otherwise.

"All parses" of melee DPS on Elegon 25N, only including the best spec of a class (so no sub rogues or arms warriors).

    http://raidbots.com/dpsbot/Elegon/25...default/#57s00

"Top100" parses with otherwise same parameters as above.

    http://raidbots.com/dpsbot/Elegon/25...default/#57s00

So in "Top100", we're at 2nd last spot. In "All parses", we're in the last spot. Using this data I wouldn't really say there's big difference between a great WW and an average one, relative to other specs of the same role. Where you got the idea that WW should dominate these fights is beyond me. The spec has great mobility and self mitigation cooldowns that come extremely handy in fights like Elegon, but our DPS is simply not enough.

    Except the parses say otherwise....
70% of average damage on a cleave fight is not enough single target dps to justify no cleave.

I think our single target dps is fine. But I don't think I should have a 30% handicap on cleave fights.

Unfortunately we private log all of our parses. If I were to make them public though I would be consistently top 5 for all fights on heroic mode. Here's a SS of last night's Feng kill that happened to be public for a while by mistake http://i.imgur.com/xVhzC.jpg - I will try and take more screenshots of relevant things to this conversation i.e dps breakdown and cleaving breakdowns.

But again, we don't have a "cleave" per say but our kit doesn't really call for it. Cleave would really be more of a luxury than anything else.
