    Morgan's Leap

For those who don't know, it's a jumping puzzle in the sylvari starting area, at the spiral in the east.

That said, what's the deal with this thing? Is it bugged? The leaves leading to it are down and the mortar turret flowers around the spiral are all closed. Not sure if this is the deal on all servers, on Gandara EU here.

I went a bit south, to the little town there and there's an event asking you to escort an npc. I remember him sitting around Morgan's Leap usually, so I presume that's the problem, as said npc doesn't even leave the town, he sits there with the defend shield on his head, event started and all and nothing happens. No command to start him, he just says we should watch out because there's undead...

I've done it before any of this has happened, read up on it, and yea ,this is pretty new I guess. The most information i could find on it was

"The jumping puzzle starts at the tree in Morgan’s Spiral, which is in the SE corner of the zone. If the tree is not active (leaves not climbable), you will need to wait for for an event to occur to activate it (you can try brute jumping it). "

    http://dulfy.net/2012/10/03/gw2-morg...-puzzle-guide/

I've never had to do that event before doing the puzzle, but I will check it out now.

I had this problem a few weeks ago and saw on the forums that it's a problem across many servers. The escort quest to regrow the tree occasionally bugs and needs a server reset to fix.

Yea, I think this is the problem. I'm sure the npc sitting at the camp south is the one that's supposed to go there and regrow the area, but he doesn't move even if the event is started... Guess I'll have to wait until they reset the servers...

It's a pain, I've been trying to do it for a while to get a video but every single time I go there in the last few weeks the stairway has been closed and the event bugged. I did read on another forums that you can brute force it and actually can start the puzzle even if it's closed with spam jumping but I wasn't able to do it myself.

Yes, tried to brute jump it for 15 min before I gave up myself before I made this thread. I just can't get the right position to jump so... guess we have to wait.

I'm also curious since I've also been trying to get it because behind it there's an area that belongs to the Nightmare Court to which you can't get any other way that I can find, and I saw there's a way down, but also a way up from down there. The last time the jump was available, I got in, got down then started climbing up and failed because of the mobs and wanted to try a few more times since I'm curious if there's anything at the end of the other climb.

At the end of Morgan's Leap is a second jumping puzzle, Dark Reverie, which is much harder, it's filled with some nightmare court and plants and stuff and you can only open the door to that section from the inside - so if someone is in, they can let you in, otherwise you've got to complete Morgan's leap first to access the nightmare court section (and if you fail at the puzzle, you fall down and die, and have to repeat morgan's leap again). So at the end of the second climb is a second chest and the dark reverie achievement.. I think that's what you're talking about anyway

Yes, that's what I'm talking about, didn't know there's actually a second chest back when I tried if a week and something back, I just jumped on the mushrooms since there was a path down and up and thought it would be nice to see what's around there hehe

I would strongly suggest taking a friend or two with you for Dark Reverie, so they can clear the mobs on the ground and revive you if you fall. Otherwise, I hope you don't fail

Yup, first time I did it I had a guy rez me like 5 times every time I fell flat on my face... makes it sooo much easier than having to repeat Morgan's Leap every time.

There's also one particular mushroom jump near the end that is the bane of existence. Look up a video of that specific jump. (Hint, jump on the stem beside it first.)

Otherwise, you'll probably die every time. I do.

Re: Abstieg's post, it's the hardest jump in the puzzle. I didnt actually jump on the stem, IIRC, but the place I jumped from (on the previous mushroom) was a place where light and shadow met, and I aimed for the lowest corner of the next mushroom...it only took me 3 tries, and the first 2 I got lucky and landed on the branch below rather than falling to my death.

Well, they fixed the event, so the plant is up again finally. Went there, then dropped down with the mushrooms, then fell a few times on an easy jump and got chased several times by angry nightmare court veterans, but after a few times I managed, I climbed, a bit more, and a bit more and I was reaching closer to the end and... I fell... but I fell onto a branch so I was safe! Except I moved since I was under the surprise of falling and fell all the way down. And with so little life the nightmare guys wiped the floor with me lol. Maybe I should get a team of some sort.

Aren't there three chests, actually? There's the Spiral tree, the chest in the bottom area with the Nightmare Court, and then a third chest after you jump around the mushrooms above the Nightmare Court to get to the area with the level 8-ish spiders.

Yup, got the first 2, for the third one there's a mushroom jump that either takes lots of practice or I'm doing it wrong.

That one's tricky. There's one platform in particular that made me fall a few times before I got it. You can't jump at it dead on, you have to jump so you kind of slide into the edge of it. It's really counter-intuitive to have to jump almost off the mushroom to land on it.

That's probably the one I keep failing. It's the only jump I thought of as truly hard, for other places I failed I did so because I was hurrying or something, but for this one I felt that I couldn't reach on it as I always ended too low. I admit I kind of jumped on it trying to get on the middle, will try your suggestion too.
