[MW] What haste cap to aim for after 5.1 changes.

Title says it all really. What haste cap should we be aiming for now? I'm reforging all out of haste and am already on 2k haste. So what would our ideal cap be now? Perhaps go for an extra tick on RNM?

The extra tick from what I remember should be at around 3k haste though which seems a bit high. Since I think we will be wanting to go crit > haste > mastery atm. (imo)

The new breakpoints sit at 3145 and 6141 (fully raidbuffed).

I just did a tweet on the haste caps due to some of the information I found, the stats I found was 3148 with all buffs and serpent stance though. Not a big difference but I'll play it safe and go for that. :P

People are just making it more complicated then it really is.
Just turn Serpent Stance OFF, reforge so you have 3148 haste, turn stance ON, now you have 4722 haste and with 5% haste buff you now have additional tick of ReM.

actually it's 3145 (4718 in serpent), not 3148 for 2 extra of ReM. I've tested it with raid buff, it does work.

Something in the way Blizzard is rounding lets 3145 work... mathematical calculations got around 3148, but actual testing shows 3145 works. Practically, it won't matter much, since you're unlikely to get exactly 3145 with reforging anyway.

So, just tried to hit the new cap in my offspec gear and fell pretty short (2574) my ilvl is pretty low 477. Is there a lower break point to aim for untill gear allows you to get the 3148 as it feels like throwing everything into haste without getting the breakpoint is a waste as haste is pretty junk on it's own.

I just started healing for my guild's 10-man group and need some help with haste numbers. I've seen all these numbers with the 5% haste buff, but what should we aim for if our group doesn't have the 5% buff? Is it even reasonable to hit the haste break point without it?

i have the 6146 haste breakthrough quite easily, sitting around 7k mainly gemming crit. thinking of going for the 9145 breakthrough point currently. I'd say in heroic blues/lfr gear 3145 is the breakthrough point you want, but once you have access to normals 6146 should be your aim. and if into heroics 9145 is pretty reachable.

To be fair, you also have no mastery whatsoever on your gear and have 501 ilvl. Having that specific combination of gear isn't likely to happen for hardly anyone on this forum, so I'd be pretty careful when thinking about this advice.

3145 isn't the easiest to get in heroic blues thanks to the fact that very few of them actually have haste on them. I was gearing MW as an offspec so didn't get to choose the gear, just got what others had already or didn't want, but even at 477 I was struggling to get the breakpoint.

When you say mainly gemming for crit, that is slightly missleading, you have 2 crit hybrid gems and the rest are spirit and spirit haste.

I think there might be a bit of confusion about the breakpoints, at least there is on my point. From what I understand the 3145 is what you want directly from gear, so in Stance of the Fiece Tiger, without the extra haste from Serpent Stance. Are the higher values you are stating (6146 and 9145) only from gear or are these both including the stance bonus, because if they are from gear then you are not even close to the 6145 value right now and I honestly think the 9145 is going to be pretty unachievable. Would be good to get some clarification on whether the values include stance bonus or not.

These haste values are in serpent stance, since we are strictly speaking about MW. it shows my haste at 4563 which is out of stance, in stance i'm sitting at 6844 which is the value you want to be looking at. if i changed my 2 crit gems + my two reforges back to haste + 2-3 crit to haste reforges i would reach the 9145 breakthrough.
