    Upgrading RAM

Planning to upgrade my RAM to this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=MY-307-CS
    - Power Supply: Corsair CX 600W
    - CPU: Intel Core i5 760 2.93GHz overclocked to 4.00GHz
    - Motherboard: Gigabyte P55-USB3 Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard

Just want to make sure it's definitely compatible with my system?

    Thank you!

Your board has 4 RAM slots, if you're starting with 2x2GB RAM then its probably cheaper to get a second set of 2x2GB RAM instead of a whole new set of 8GB.

Is there a difference in 4x2GB and 2x4GB?

No, once upon a time having more RAM slots occupied put more stress on the memory controller so you may get less FSB headroom. But nowadays all you do to overclock is up the multiplier so there is no difference in performance.

Yes, it's harder to overclock when you have more RAM sticks. You might have to drop down your current OC a bit.

    Trolling should be.

    Can I run 2x2GB alongside 2x4GB? I currently have Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit

Will be buying Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit

Just a thought, is it viable?

Yes you can, but OC becomes even harder.

If having stable OC is priority, just use 2x4GB RAM. Those extra 2x2GB on top of it will do nothing in gaming.
