    Interface error prevents glyph and talent changes. Help?

    I am having this issue with my addons that prevents me from changing my glyphs and talents unless I disable my addons. All my addons are up-to-date as far as I know. I have cleared my cache folder but don't really want to delete my WTF folder cause then I would have to set up all my addons again. I keep getting the following error:

    I could be wrong, but its just a taint and is pretty much unavoidable. Just reload UI and it should allow you to change glyphs/talents afterwards.

    Nope. I tried that several times. Been having this issue for a while. Finally got sick of it just now. lol

    What are the main addons you are using? I get the issue randomly, which I attribute to either Bartender, Bazooka or a MicroMenu broker mod. I usually reloadUI when it happens, then hit the key rather than the menu option.

    bOOURNS is right though. It's just a taint and has been a issue for a long time now. Your only options are to reload UI until it works, or hit the button to disable the addon, change what you need, then log out and turn the addon back on.

    Edit. Also it's not a specific addon that's causing it. It's game code causing the issue, not a certain addon. You can get the error from bartender one time, then power auras the next, then something else after that.

    All I see is:

    No disable button or anything. And reloading my UI does nothing.

    Can you upload a screenshot larger than a thumbnail?

    (could be my browser with NoScript)

  8. #8
    Try re-logging, it's been happening for a while now, or disable all your addons.

  9. #9
    Fixed it. Was trying to do a thumbnail that would expand but im not that smart.

    If you look at the screenshot, I get that error box every time I log in. My original post contains the whole text.

    I don't think that login error has anything to do with your inability to use the Glyph or Talent pages. Try disabling the micromenu or using the built-in hotkey for accessing those pages. I bet it works rather than clicking

    That is what I get when trying to change a talent. After this point, the only way I can change my talents or glyphs is by logging off and disabling all my addons, do whatever change I need to make, then relog and turn the addons back on. Reloading my UI does nothing to help this. It happens every time unless my addons are turned off.

    Right, but how did you get to that screen? By clicking on your menu bar? Press the keyboard command rather than clicking and I bet it works (after a reloadUI of course). If this happens every time, you likely have an out of date addon OR library. I believe the key is N by default

    Tracking that down may be a chore, but I would start with the Ace libraries. If you are using the Curse client, make sure that either all of your addons download dependencies or all of them do not and grab them individually. It's usually easier to let them grab the libraries they need

    Opening it with the keybind or clicking it results in the same thing.

    Yeah, it's tainting. You can try turning off your addons one by one to see if you have any that don't taint, but it'd be like a search for a needle in a haystack as it's not the addons' fault. The fastest solution is still disabling all your addons, then turning them on after you change talents.

    If you only have enabled addons installed, you can use these macros to toggle them quickly without logging out:
    Code:
    /run DisableAllAddOns() ReloadUI()
    Code:
    /run EnableAllAddOns() ReloadUI()
    PS: Use [code][/code] boxes for stack traces so they don't stretch your post.
