No, that argument is terrible. Just because you got a dud, does not mean that the replacement is a dud. I can't stand when people swear off a brand or certain model within a brand because they had a problem with the first one that got handled by an awesome warranty. I am sorry that you had a bad experience with the first one you tried, but if it got replaced by them and the new one works(and it seems that you really like it) how can you steer someone away from such a good product?
