I like how this thread has taken like 4 different derailings in only 7 pages.

Go to China if you want to go to an Asian country. Hong Kong is especially nice because everyone speaks English and you can buy stuff really cheap.

Japan, heck yes! Nothing against Korea at all, but Japan has some seriously amazing views.. Possibly even the coolest looking Country on Earth.

Japan, more chances to see strange things and less of a chance of being kidnapped.

Depends on how long you're going to stay. Japan takes time, and you should use that time as it is the best country I've stayed in by far.

In South-Korea I would recommend, as a minimum, Seoul for a couple days and then take a guided trip up to DMZ, which is the border between North and South. It is maybe one of the most special things I've done so far. It felt ... weird.

As to language barriers, I had a lot less problems in Japan than I had in South-Korea for some reason. But English is not that common in either places, most of the time I would end up asking people who seemed a tiny bit more "upper-class", and they would translate for me in order to get something done. It worked, and gave it a tiny twist on the "vacation".

Do also consider the weather and seasons, as it may get rather cold in South-Korea for instance, but not unbearable.

Oh wow, that's a tough one. Both countries have amazing food, culture and a lot of history. I suppose it depends on which country is easier to get around in. I don't know that much about South Korea, when it comes to infrastructure and ease of travel, though I do know that Japan has signs in english just about everywhere and that they have a very good public transport system.

I feel like Japan might be slightly favored for tourists.

I don't have any experiences about either and I know that you're not planning on living there but this is an interesting read:

It's pretty much cash only in the entire country. The only places it's not like that are in Tokyo and Kyoto. Both cities are stupidly expensive as well.

    I'm absolutely serious.
Thats why there is 7eleven. Which is pretty much everywhere. Supermarkets, Convenience stores, etc often do take MasterCard and Visa (you're better off with Visa than MC). As a foreigner in Japan I have no problems getting money at all, be it in a small coastal city or in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, etc. Seriously, 7eleven is the awnser to your problems. The other place where you often can withdraw money is the postoffice (郵便局), they tend to support international cards as well.

If you go outside of the major cities, technology is quite low. But as long as you're within those cities, technology and internet is great. I'm not sure when you went to Japan, but it seems like you went in the stone age.

This is my current internet, provided for free by my landlord which is split over several appartments (12 or so).

As for the choice between Japan and Korea, I would definitly suggest Japan. The culture is amazing, people are really friendly, the historical buildings and temples are beautiful and the country side still has some pretty cool nature. Places you should really consider visiting while you're here are Tokyo (Akihabara, Asakusa, Harajuku, Odaiba, Ueno, Yoyogipark), Kyoto (soooo many temples), FujiQ highland and mount Fuji, Hiroshima, Okinawa and Hokkaido. Besides these places, there are obviously lots and lots of other places that are worth a visit.

As for Korea, you can very well make a trip to Korea by plane for a few days and look around there for a bit. It is very well possible to more or less do both this way!

One last thing, if you don't like very busy places I would strongly suggest not coming over here. Specially in the summer, the popular tourist spots are completely packed with people!

Moving around in the cities in either places shouldn't be a problem. When it comes to traveling between cities, Japan would be the best choice if that's a desire. The train system is really good and easy to navigate in. I took both the Shinkansen (express-train) and the slower one which I'm unable to remember the name of. When it comes to the MRT's in Japan and South-Korea I would say they're ok. The MRT system in Seoul crushed the ones in Tokyo. If you've been to Singapore, it is pretty similar to the one in Seoul.

And the first thing you should do whenever you enter an unfamiliar country, at least one where English isn't commonly spoken, is to ask for a map. Here I would recommend having a in both English and common tongue.

Korea. Japan is like a battery farm, it's far too busy.

So anybody who moves to American is an American-weeaboo?

People emigrate to everywhere, implying that Japan is somehow special and that people who emigrate there should be looked down upon is fucking stupid.

Classifying pictures of real children and drawn pictures of children as the same thing is pants-on-head retarded. The reason that child pornography is illegal is because it victimizes children in its production and allowing it to circulate creates a demand for more of it. The same cannot be said for a form of media that victimizes nobody in its creation.

I say Korea, Japan is pretty but sorta dull outside the touristy areas.
Q: Where the fuck is Xia Xia, SIU?!?!

    A2: Drunk and sleeping somewhere.

Legalizing it would break down the barriers of moral and social acceptance of it. That's a very dangerous thing to do.

People that want to look at young boys or girls in that way, animated or not, are paedophiles and a disgrace.

What exactly is the problem with people looking at drawn loli?

So does that mean people who look at furry stuff, or guro are into beastality and sadomasicism for real? You know, usually when something is animated, it's all in fantasy, it's not real, I doubt a good chunk of people would never do a good percentage of things they see in porn.

If someone went out and actually had sex with a child a drawing, I'm willing to bet they had pedophile tendencies beforehand.

I guess violent video games, movies, and tv shows make people into murderers too, right?

I just played Rapeplay, going to go out on a train and rape random women now brb.
