The Best Games Without Violence/Not As Much Violence

I'm curious about this: What is the best non-violent or not-that-violent game you can think of that doesn't involve killing people or only involves "killing"?

Scribblenauts is a good example of a game that doesn't require violence to get fun/progress.

same could be said about playing WoW on an empty server just leveling by gathering plants, the game in it's sheer design does involve violence up to a certain point, you can neglect it but it's not the original design itself... well that could be argued :P.

Can I name more than one?

    Animal Crossing.
    Roller Coaster Tycoon.
Mario (unless you think jumping on turtles is overly violent).
    Racing and sports games.
    Pokemon, technically.
Adventure games (Phoenix Wright, Layton, etc).
    Scribblenauts.

The "tropico" series can be good examples of a game that allows for violence to exist (protests) but are not obligatory on the game itself, same could be said to mark of the ninja, there's even a "no kill" style.

    Murdering those poor sentries.

Puzzle games are generally non violent, hopefully...

Some old game like Incredible Machine. Though that's debatable for people that don't like puzzle games, they well... won't like it.

Can also play games like DDR or Audiosurf or what not.

These, though there's some violence in sing-song turrets that try to kill you.

Oh and also the fact that GLaDOS is trying to murder you as well . . .

Still, the game is more about solving the puzzles than about violence.

Lots of games spring to mind, especially if you consider games like X3 (space sim) where fighting is almost enitrely optional as you can play as a trader etc (still the possibility of being attacked but as a trader a lot of it's automated). Puzzle games and racing games are generally non-violent, as well as some RTS's like Anno to a degree so it's hard to think of the best ones. Double Fine and Telltale Games have quite a few good RPG's that are non-violent.
    Her hall is called Eljudnir,
    her dish is Hunger,
    her knife is Famine,
    her slave is Lazy,
and Slothful is her woman servant.

But can you think of any games that are non-violent from genre that are traditionally violent? Like strategy games or first-person games. Puzzle games and such speaks for itself, most of them are non-violent.

You'll need to be specific on strategy. Like RTS? turn based?
Like someone mentioned, Sid Meier's Colonization is a good example.
Sid Meier Civ games have the possibilities of being non violent depending on how you play, presuming you're not running around genociding.

First person games depends on the type. Much like if it's a horror game like Amnesia / Penumbra, though that's debatable on violence as you can get clawed in the face... It's disturbing, but there's not really a portion where you are on a murder spree.
Adventure games are not necessarily violent in first person.

But of course, things like first person "shooters" are going to be violent basically regardless due to the sheer nature. That's just impossible to avoid. The shooter part kinda gives it away.
