People quitting cos it was too hard just illistrates the wrong people play this game now.
Now the game just lowers the bar too much.

I love it as it is, I used to rate BC as my favourite but I think its more than obvious that its just nostalgic thinking going on in my brain.
Obviously though, PvP has seen brighter times, but I feel the PvE raiding content is amazing, and what's coming in 5.2 is yet another improvement again.

I didn't play in vanilla, but only a few months after TBC was release. It was a cool game, nice and all...but GOD was it awful at time. I quited soon after Sunwell was release, and only came back just before ICC was released.
I'm having far less trouble with "the community" today than I used to have. Just because modern day WoW gives me the opportunity to avoid dicks. I quit hardcore raiding in Vanilla because of "the community" (which, for the most part, was just a bunch of elitist, selfimportant, bigoted geeks) and subsequently quit the game alltogether because there wasn't anything to do in the game if you weren't raiding.
In today's day and age, I can do whatever the hell I want, enjoy myself and, for most of the time, block out anyone who I wouldn't want to spend a minute of my life with in the first place (like this Nathane dude here - man, must that guy hurt). Just like you would do in real life.

You can't even remember exactly how you felt back then. People didn't behave significantly better in vanilla than they do now. Especially not those "friendly" types that kited bosses to capitals.
You also seem to have forgotten that WoWs success is, in fact, built upon opening the genre to the masses. Right from the very beginning. The primary key has always been accessibility, not community, as you seem to believe.
This game was better when people didn't constantly try to find flaws in it to justify them being tired of the game.
No. Now they rule the game because there are no consequences for destroying the game for others because no one knows each other.
It's not necessary to make friends so no one cares about anyone but themselves, and anyone who does want a sense of community is driven away.
If we want a real community now we have to make it on our own, but we have to fight the game to do it.
What guilds?
Everyone does LFR.
Guilds are for the hardcore only now.
I am more than capable of making friends and putting effort into doing that because I am such a confident person, but like I said, I have to fight the game to do it. Whereas before in vanilla, TBC and Wrath, you had to make friends to see the game otherwise you simply wouldn't see everything.
"The Game Was Better When"
People didn't bitch constantly and reminisce about worse versions of WoW.
Failing to realize it's called Rose Tinted Goggles. I have damn good memories of BC as everyone does, But does that make it the best expansion and time of WoW? No it does not, Because those are my memories. I know if we went back to the BC style the game would fail.
