Ratting in a capital is fine, i ge 46million isk ticks in my carrier using sentrys but i also keep scouts on either side of my system.
I just entered a system with a Forlorn Haven, but didn't see you, so I went next door and checked a Forsaken Sanctum. You weren't there either. Just to be thorough I also checked a Hidden Hideaway, but still no luck
Can anyone recommend a good Youtube channel for EVE Online, especially ones for noobs like myself?
Hello fellow noob! I just started last night, but before I even so much as downloaded the client, I watched a TON of videos and learned a lot of stuff.
EDIT - Sorry, I mixed up the word "channels" with the word "videos". The ones I suggested are by people that have multiple eve videos. I didn't bother to check if they're still making new ones these days. Some of them are kind of old, but I feel that they're still relevant.
"10 things to know before starting eve" - Even if you're already playing, still good to watch.

"Eve Online Tutorial For Absolute Beginners" - Accents tend to make the tutorials more interesting, IMO.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUlXAK16fr0
"Market Tutorial" - Great for helping you get acquainted with the market UI.

"Mining Ships" parts 1-4 (other 3 parts in suggested videos)

Faction Ships - Just some info I found useful/interesting.
Amarr ships:

Gallente ships:

Caldari ships:

Minmatar ships:

I watched more videos, but for the most part these are where I started.

Just found something curious.
Here is a comparison of some of the ships by size:
http://www.hot.ee/paganarh/eve/eve_chart-rmr.jpg
The ship at the bottom right corner (next to the long ones) is called Obelisk and it's one of the biggest ships allowed in high sec. It's ridiculously huge when you see it ingame, but it's funny how small it is compared to a titan.

This isn't exactly directed towards noobs, but for anyone wanting to learn about PvP. These are done by Garmen, who has gained a solid reputation as a pvp pilot. Also one of the very few people ballsy enough to fly and lose an alliance tournament cruiser valued at roughly 30 billion.

Heya guys, I saw this Video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aY-Q7CRe-I
And people in the comments are saying that his overview is poorly optimized (among other things). Can someone please tell me what it's SUPPOSED to look like?
That just about made me cry.
How TEST helps newbros unfuck their overviews. Still applicable to just about anyone.

^ is a very nice overview pack that makes it easy to add preconfigured tabs (Yes, it COULD be a huge virus/scam on my part, but you'll have to take my word for it)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...&v=m7Y9VXmegzY
^ shows you how to configure it. Skip to 1:40 if you don't trust me and didn't download the pack. You can keep Pilot is an Outlaw checked and on the list if you're living in high sec, but it's probably safest not to worry about that.

Uh, wrong. the longest ship in warhammer is only 6 kilometers long (omnissah's victory mechanicus ark).
The longest ship in EVE, is the Ragnarok, which is 18.1 kilometers long. As far as I can tell, it is the largest ship in any sci-fi universe where dimensions are actually given. The other Titans in EVE are between 14-18 kilometers as well.
It's even longer than the largest imperial ship in star wars, which is about 17 kilometers long.
I Played 14 days tutorial back in 2007 and i couldn't understand shit about this game lol, I choose WoW over EVE but since I only play WoW now casually (doing dailies+ hunting achiv + LFR) I wanted something new so I started trial account and on 5th day I almost got all basics of this game. Day before yesterday some guy invited like half of the rookie channel to a fleet, he started teaching us basics of the game and I was suspicious thinking that he is going to warp us to low security system and let his CORP friends blowing up us all just for fun...LOL. The strange thing is he was really teaching us the basics of the game and he warped us in low security place and gave us some tips and we were mining and salvaging as much as we need in the protection of him and some his friends.
Next day I subscribed in EVE as he told us from green man gaming you get pretty good deal there, starter pack + 60 days for 40$, starter pack includes ships + implant and 2x boosts to reduce skill training time significantly. Yesterday I joined small mining CORP and they are building me retriever in cost of staying them at least 6 months and give them 50% of my mined ore I don't know if this is good deal or not but we will see

Hi, I am curious about EvE and was wondering if anyone could hook me up with 21 day trial or whatever it is? Thank you
"Bill Nye: So Todd I got an offer for you. You and me. Any time. Any place. Debating science mano- a-mano. I'll bring the facts, and you bring the Vaseline. Because your ass is gonna fucking need it when I'm done whipping."
Mr Eames: "You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling"
no that's a horrible deal. they probably have a high tax rate as well. i definitely would not join them.
now, when you start EVE and do the tutorial missions, one of the several free ships you get is the Venture. This ship will handle all your mining needs until you are skilled enough to fly a retriever, which only takes a couple weeks I think. In 2 weeks, you could easily make enough ISK to buy 10 retrievers, and that's just mining casually for 4-5 hours a day.
if your character is Gallente Gallente bloodline, you should quit that corp and you will be placed in an NPC corp called The Scope. If not, reroll a Gallente Gallente character and start out with the Center for Advanced Studies. It's an excellent beginner corp and they will help you with lots of stuff for free.
But, back to the retriever. So with this ship you will be making 8-10 million ISK per hour while mining, in the beginning. say you mine for 3-4 hours a day; that's a LOT of ISK you would be giving that corp, all for a 'free' ship that only costs 30 million to begin with. That corp is screwing you, bigtime.

a small history of nullsec for this year, i have to say pretty epic year all in all, years old alliances and coalitions died and new ones were formed, im proud to say i was a part of the downfall of Red.overlord and the death of the cfc.
On another note if you allready have an account the power of 2 is going on till early jan, 3 plexs or 50 bucks IRL and you get a new account with 6 months of game time. 3 plexs comes out to about 1.6 bill which isnt much, was 2 days of mining for me.
I got the power of 2 thing simply to train another mining account. =)
