Yes, there is someone in the world who seriously believes this.

0 recorded deaths from THC/cannabis overdose maybe. But how many deaths where THC was found in someone's system? What effect might've the cannabis had on their lives leading up to the point at which they died?

Something doesn't need to instantly rip your face off to be considered dangerous.

I have done more than my fair share of drugs including coke, X, alcohol, and various pills. Some people would say I was addicted to them but I quit all of them, except for my drinking I just toned it down to moderate levels. I did it all cold turkey and without help. If people want to quit something then they should just quit. Theres no one holding a gun to your head saying keep smoking or keep drinking. Just stop doing it, it really is that simple.
    You're an imbecile. I bet you don't even have a master's.

If you're a severe alcoholic and you go cold turkey, it can kill you. Physical addiction does exist, but cannabis isn't one of those 'physically addictive' substances like heroin, vicodin, etc are.

It's perfectly normal to smoke weed at 17, don't focus on the drugs. If she's doing well in school and she's on the right track for college let her have her fun. If she's NOT it's most likely not the drugs it's HER or your parents.

Why do you keep throwing that word 'strawman' around, when you're complicit in having used them yourself?

Where did I say pot use was responsible for deaths? Your argument is that because it hasn't, it should therefore not be illegal. My argument is that it doesn't have to have caused deaths to be illegal.

You've posted this twice now, but it's 1 study. 1 STUDY. That shows that young people below the age of 18 MAY experience a drop in IQ. BIG WHOOP. Does that mean no one should be able to smoke weed? I have friends who have been smoking weed since they were about 16, which I personally think is too young, but they still manage to do very well in school and in their jobs. Very intelligent people who have shown no visible signs of being dumbed down by their use.

Really 8 IQ points and thats with "heavy use" Thats not going to magically turn people into retards. I could lose twice that and still be over 120.

Also, NOTHING is completely harmless. Water can be fatal if you drink too much of it. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_intoxication) Claiming that Marijuana isn't as harmful as other substances is one thing, and can be debated. Claiming that marijuana is completely harmless indicates that you're not actually interested in debate, or you're just completely buying into propaganda (propaganda goes both ways after all).

So your IQ is over 136 and you don't believe that addiction is real? Either you were joking about the addiction thing or something is wrong with the IQ test you took.

Because laws shouldn't be there to tell me what I can and cannot put in my body... I love bodybuilding... I love going to the gym and shredding muscle to build more scar muscle... that's how it works, but workingout is only 30% of the hardwork, the other 70% comes from your diet, but sometimes, I just can't eat that much... so smoking a bit of weed helps and I'm able to eat my 5 meals a day without feeling the urge to gag it all up... Also when I'm high and lifting... I don't hit muscle fatigue quickly, those last 2-3 reps are nothing and I can feel the pump even better... now am I the type of person you were expecting? Or were you portraying me as a typical, stereotype stoner... rasta themed apparel and a saggy beany on top of my head... I'm sorry, but if you have this idea in your head that weed causes people to be lazy... I'm still living proof that I can accomplish more high than you do sober.

So if somebody gets run over by a car and has THC in their system, would you consider that a cannabis related death? I swear a lot of you are caught up in the reefer madness propaganda and think that this is some demon drug because of DARE campaigns or whatever. Seriously, the link I provided has all the information you want, including marijuana as a SUSPECTED contributing factor, and the number's still far less than much more common prescription medications, not to mention the keyword SUSPECTED.

You'll stop at nothing to demonize cannabis, won't you?

As a 22yo, you should refrain from calling your 17yo sister a "little baby", that would really help.

It's worth mentioning that the drug in this case has never been responsible for a death in recorded history.
I just want to point out that you seem to be forgetting that streak of.. what was it, 4 murders? Of people hopped up on bathsalts and eating other people.

I wouldnt say having a "smoke" (Im guessing its weed) on new years is bad. But if she cant controll her weed consumption, it might turn bad. Just tell her how you feel about it and if she doesnt understand you, you might have a problem!

What the hell man, I never said harmless I said 0 recorded THC deaths, which is true. The links that you provided aren't even conclusive, they're theorizing based on the fact that the people who died consumed cannabis, and an extremely SMALL (6 people, wow) sample size at that.

At least that has data from the FDA since the government is apparently a moral authority.

Get out of here with your strawmen. You have to change my argument to even try and refute it, which I find comical.

To add onto this, people dying to drug overdoses aren't just hurting themselves, they're hurting all the people close to them and who loved them.
