Ok guys I'm from uk so the parts I want to buy must be From here my budget is £2000 and I want to build the machine myself I feel it woul work out cheaper is that right? I want to have a 27inch monitor 120htz included in this budget my previous machine I have to my brother had I7 6 core processor 12gb 1600mhz ram 256ssd 1tb hard drive gtx 670 ftw card but I want better then that.

Any help would be appreciated

This gives you a top of the line i7, more RAM than him, same on the SSD and HD but a step up on the graphics card. TBH, his system is very difficult to get better than as it is mostly the best. You do get a little more RAM, which anything over 8 for gaming is already pretty much wasted though, and a better GPU, but you probably will not notice much improvement in terms of performance for the extra money. If you just want to say yours is better though, this should do it.

Well, you stated you wanted a 27 inch with 120htz, so that's why that was included. The 690 I saw was £1000, so would have put you over budget. Yeah, you could probably drop to the 2GB and not notice any difference on a single monitor, was just going for that over the top build so you could one up your brother.

Monitor. Case I was looking at was corsair 600tm appreciate the advice I originally gave pc so I would move to laptop but I don't see any decent looking laptops with power msi are ugly and cheap build

You should get a samsung 830 instead of the 840, it's cheaper and there's virtually no difference, other than the 830 being faster.

120hz monitors is primarily used for 3D gaming, so that means 2x60hz when gaming. I don't see the use in 120hz for 2D gaming tbh, I would rather buy a monitor with a higher resolution and stick a 2GB GTX680 or a HD7970 in there. 120hz is really just e-peen unless you want to play in 3D, which btw sucks...

830 is faster than 840 normal, but it ain't faster than the 840pro

We aren't talking huge differences between GTX660-GTX680. For value the GTX660/660ti/670 are alot better options than a GTX680 which will be about 5-8% faster than a GTX670 at stock. Overclocked the results are more in the 10-12% at most and 5-8% in most settings. If you really want a performance increase over the standard single gpu solutions we are talking GTX690 which is essentially 2 GTX680 in one card.

Ditching the 120HZ monitor should make the GTX690 a viable choice for you as you will save quite abit by getting a standard monitor, even one with higher resolution. And this is where the GTX690 will shine compared to a GTX680.

I'm not sure why you added a GTX 680 4GB to the build when you can get the 2GB version for almost £260 less.

Go for a 670 imo, if you're not overly obsessed with beating your brother I wouldn't dish out the extra money for the 680. If I wanted the best and only the best could please me and I didn't have to think about cost, I'd get the 680. If someone mentions a budget, I would not recommend the 680 over a 670 or 660ti. Ever thought about going for AMD? I hear the 7970GHZ is tha beast, and it comes in almost as cheap as a 670.
