Motherboard Question

I was wondering if someone could tell me if this motherboard is good enough for the CPU and Graphics Card that I am ordering with it. The Motherboard says it is compatible with Phenom II and of course it has the PCI x16 But I don't want to burn up my motherboard.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'burn up' your motherboard. Either it fits or it doesn't. Does the motherboard say it supposed the CPU? If it does, it does.

And any PCI-E card will fit any PCI-E, pretty much. PCI-E 2 (which is like 3-4 years old right now) will support any and all PCI-E cards.

Sort of unrelated, why the really nice video card, but the 'meh at best' CPU?

Well I heard that the CPU fits yes but it doesn't recognize or something like that.... Well I want to make sure I get a good enough graphics card to run the latest games and I heard good things about that CPU.

Yes it will all fit together. Do you happen to have a budget to work with? What have to be included in the build/budget? What resolution are you gaming at?

The RAM is bad, you want something 1600MHz, not 1066MHz.

The PSU is not really great (it will work though).

The AMD CPU is old tech but still decent I guess.

I changed the PSU to SeaSonic SSR-450RM 450W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

I was told that CPU is better than any FX CPU from AMD... Ill check out the ram. Right now my build is sitting at 524 thats without Hard drive, disk drive, and OS.

I would like to keep it below 700

Pretty much any current gen Intel i3 or above is better than any AMD. The i3-2100T is the same price as the Phenom and better. The 2120 (Non-T) is as good as the best AMD CPU for gaming.

The biggest problem is.. If you get the AMD CPU... that's it for upgrades. At least if you get the Intel CPU, you have the option of getting a better CPU down the road.

yeah the RAM should be fine. The PSU is good. So $700 is everything you have and should include HDD, DVD drive and OS?

That one ought to do good for the 2120. A few notes, though.

If you want to upgrade to a better processor down the road, specifically an i5 Ivy Bridge CPUs, you'll need to do a BIOS update. This doesn't cost anything, nor is it difficult.

If you plan to something like an i5 3570K CPU down the road, and want to overclock, you'll need to look at a Z77 board, which are about $30-$40 more expensive. If you dont want to overclock, I don't see any issue with that board.

Could save a little by getting a Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB I just went with a Black drive as it performs better especially when you have no SSD. You could also save a little on the case if you just want the most basic and don't care about front USB 3.0 etc. ($50+ shipping at NewEgg).

RAM and GPU is also a combo.
