Stick with me here but... real life Mermen.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbWVDk68BOI

Does this have any credibility? Do the people they interview actually excist and not just actors?

I know it's conspiracy theorizing but, the events described in the "documentary" have occured, the mass beachings of whales and dolphins did happen, the Bloop is a real recording and so on.

I always preffered to imagine "the bloop" as some monstrous, all devouring beast, akin to a real life old god underneath our planet.

Aha, so it's a mock-umentary then. I did get the feeling that the so-called scientists were, well, acting and reading from a script.

The Bloop is still interesting though. And these mass beachings are also interesting.

This is not so much a mockumentary as much as it is an intellectual stimulant (that sound smart enough?).
Seriously though, this really gets you thinking. The little we do know about the abyssopelagic and hadopelagic layers are already interesting enough, such as fish with advanced photophore (light producing) organs. What would we discover if we put real funding into deep sea exploration? Although at such extreme pressures I can't see any humanoid-like creature surviving, so I think we can rule out mermaids. Or maybe not! That's the beauty of mystery.

We know so very little of our own planet that mermaids or animals acquainted with the myth might very well be real. But to believe this documentary is plain stupid. Yes some of it is real, like The Bloop and masstranding of whales and other seacreatures but the Aquatic Ape THeory is just that, a theory.

It's still fun to speculate in the unknown, especially the deep sea.

Do you really not know anything about how businesses run? What, do you think Blizz is ran by 30 people - 15 of them are working on WoW, 10 of them on SC2, 4 on Diablo, and a retarded donkey worked on this app for a few months? Do you also think that hamsters power their servers and when they get tired, all the servers crash?

It's possible that there are intelligent creatures in the ocean, excluding the dolphins and whales. We don't really know enough about the ocean in order to ignore the possibility. It does seem a bit unlikely though, and I highly doubt there's a government coverup for mermaids.

This title is more then enough to make me very skeptic. Even tough we know less of the bottom of the ocean then we know about the surface of the moon

No. We've absolutely no reason to think that mermen exist.

It's amazing what kind of crackhead theories people pull out of their asses with absolutely zero evidence backing it other than it'd be cool, when they go about their normal lives demanding reasonable amounts of evidence for everything else.

Exactly. Whenever you see the words "cover up" you're quite likely dealing with the tinfoil hat community.

The Earth is flat. I can see forever - you can't explain that.
