I'm obligated to ask if my OCs qualify as "tame" because I have a crapton of OCs who I've hashed out at least a basic visual design for, and I share your hatred of over-the-top OCs that are patently ridiculous in both appearance and backstory. Zephyr's due for a visual redesign but at the very least there's Whimsy and my OC.

Well, I just hate over the top OC's. I can tolerate a tame one with some weird personal things to it.

But I should say however, I ABSOLUTELY hate when someone basically inserts their OC into a story, like a Fan Fiction. It is basically going to be the most over powered thing ever, breaks cannon so hard it is not funny. It's so over powered that the fan fictions .pdf file disappears from my Reader instantly and I never finish the story.

Self-inserts are generally pretty awful, yeah. Imaginary wish fulfillment at its finest. I'm not doing that with BWSD--I did enough self-inserting in B&W, which was kind of a bitchfest anyways. I don't want to write another story like that.
