Looking to upgrade with tax money.

Hey all It's been a few years since I've upgraded my PC. Currently running an AMD Phenom 9850 BE with a MSI AM2 MOBO, 4gb of ram and a 4850 HD GPU.

I am willing to spend up to $1500 but if some could be spared I can put it to use elsewhere. I want to play at 1920x1080 no exceptions with dual monitors not necessarily both have to be at 1920x1080. Currently running duel 22" screens but would like to go bigger (27"?) for my main display. I play WoW and D3 with some FPS games on the side from time to time. I would like to get into Frapsing raids and streaming but other than that I dont use any super hardcore software. This is going to be a completely fresh build. I need everything! Since I am giving my current system to my wife to mess around on.

I don't mind buying online but I do live close to a micro center and would love to walk out with components ready to build when I get home.

Would the 27" be of a higher resolution?

750W is complete overkill, an i5 and a GTX 670 will hardly even reach 300W in load at stock settings. Unless you are going to add another GPU later on something like 450-550W would be a better choice.

I would personally prefer to get a modular PSU and a spend a bit more on a better case.

Also you might want to read up on Razers issues with Synapse 2.0 and look for a mechanical keyboard of a better brand.

The monitor is still 1920x1080. Just want something that I can tell is bigger. Could go with a 24" instead. You say a better case. This will be my first decent build so anything that makes it easier but stays in budget would be nice. Removing monitor and case brings me to right at $1k for just basic components.

I do plan on overclocking both CPU and GPU just want to make sure I have enough reserve power to allow that.

Rosewill is sort of a ... meh brand. Good solid cases but I wouldn't trust the power supply.

Seasonic good brand, good cost. There's really no reason to spend $100 on a PSU when there are good ones for cheaper.

If you're only saving $10 then i'd stick with your first choice. There are cheaper alternatives if you go for Seasonic 620W 80plus Bronze, which gives you a significant saving over your first pick and it has plenty of power.

I see I got kinda hung up on the 80plus gold ratings. I will defiantly be re thinking that.

To be honest, anything beyond Bronze 80+ rating is a waste of money. They did tests on it, and the 3% efficiency bump did almost nothing. You would save like $3 a year, but ended up paying $15-$30 more up front for the sticker.

The only time Gold or higher rating is actually worthwhile and a good investment, is if you have a system that literally pushes over 1000w and is running full load, year round. Which... I can't even think of a system or situation that would allow it. It was just sort of "What If" setup.

Actually a higher 80+ certification often means that you get better quality components in your PSU like Japanese capacitors rated at 105c and with the higher efficiency comes less heat in the PSU which means you don't need a high RPM fan, some Gold rated PSU are semi passive up to a certain percentage of load just for that reason.

Ok so next thing I really want a 670, but I just can't seem to find room in my budget to spend $350-$450 on a card. I have decided to keep my current keyboard and mouse to save money. I have twin 22" screens now that run at 1680x1050 but I really want to get up to 1920x1080 in a duel screen setup. My wife will inherit my old screens so two new ones are in order. I would like a nice one (24" or so) for my main and the other I really don't care as it's used for web surfing, vent, youtube, facebook, etc. while I'm in game.

Well if monitors are your priority, drop the SSD and downgrade to an AMD 7850 or a more expensive GTX 660 (non-ti), see how much you save and think about which monitors you want to purchase.

You'll probably have to upgrade to a slightly faster HDD as well, but the cost shouldn't be too high.
