    Vid Card recommendation

    Hi ho gents and ladies!

Specs: Win 7 64bit, i7 930@2.8Ghz, 6 gig ram, 750w power supply. Hope that's all the spec info needed

I'm looking to get a new video card in the 100-140$US range. Its mainly for gaming (WoW,GW2 and random brick a brack from steam) but I also do a lot of 3d work/photoshop work so I'm looking for something that can do well for both. I know my spending limit is a bit low but I know there's decent cards out there for that range. I might can go a little higher but not much. I currently run a GeForce GT 520 that a friend gave me after my Radeon HD 5770 died.

I'm thinking about this but am not 100% sure it would suit the design end of things.

I know you folks are way smarter about this than I am, so I look forward to your suggestions and thank you ahead of time~! <3

I know the review just calls it the 7770, but the card they used was clocked at 1000MHz, same as the one linked, so, go for the 650 Ti, imo. Probably also better cooled with that big ol' fan and heatsink.

If you can stretch your budget more, or save a bit more, I would really consider going with something like:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

Video Card: MSI Radeon HD 7850 2GB Video Card ($179.99 @ Amazon)
    Total: $179.99
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

If stretching the budget/saving more is not an option, I would go with:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

Video Card: XFX Radeon HD 7770 1GB Video Card ($117.55 @ Newegg)
    Total: $117.55
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

well, since he said he does A LOT of video 3D work, would he benefit from a GTX460 or if he can stretch the budget get a 560Ti? That's assuming the programs he is using can benefit from the cuda cores

Thank you guys so much for the help! I've got a few days before I'm ordering, so I'm going to look at each one suggested.

Edit: More than likely going to go with the 650 suggested, it sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. ^___^

Did you just skim the first few AMD favored benchmarks from Crysis?

If you scroll down, the 650 Ti stomps the 7770 at anything Nvidia favored.
