I'll go back to the Obama admin. 1. Refusing to name the capital of Israel and 2. Obama calling Myanmar Burma.

#1 is playing politics but that's what they do (on both sides). #2 is either an honest mistake or shows a lack of knowledge.

Calling Myanmar by the name of Burma is in no way a good comparison to denying the age of the earth, and I have no idea why that matters. That would be like Obama naming Myanmar as The Dominican Republic. Not naming the capital of Israel is also not the same as denying accepted scientific fact.

I don't think Cuomo would get the nod. His approval has slipped in NY after he rammed gun legislation through. O'Malley, maybe. I was in MD during his last election and it wasn't pretty.

Neither resembles the capacity to deny a physical fact about the Earth that every single person should know, and I'm sure every person has heard many, many times.

Also, this is a tu quoque fallacy. I'm lukewarm, at best, to Obama and I feel no particular need to defend him. I'm stating that I think people who deny the age of the Earth are unfit to lead the country; that does not suggest that I think Obama is a great choice.

Yeah, I'm from NY originally and have lived in Maryland for two and a half years. Neither strikes me as particularly beloved, if they're chosen it'll be party machine politics, not a wave of love, I think.
