Upgrade or buy more Mal Gear?

I started playing a Monk at the start of the year and I absolutely love healing on it. I plan on taking this character into 5.2 and staying with it for RBG/Arena. I do not have full Mal however, maybe about half and with weapons of course. With about 2 or 3 weeks (guessing) left in the current season, should I continue to buy Mal gear or upgrade my current Mal gear seeing as upgrading won't be around in 5.2?

I'm in nearly the exact same boat as you (except as a WW Monk :P). Anyway, I hear upgrading is best because it's better than the honor Malev next season but slightly worse than Tyrannical. Seeing as weapons don't have a required conquest cap to unlock buying them though, i'd advise upgrading your armor before your weapon unless you plan on zerging up your rating in the first week or two...

The honor malevolent gear will have more pvp power and resi than even upgraded current malevolent gear. (trinkets might be an exception)
There is slight stamina and main stat difference though.
Weapons dont get any changes though, so you might want to upgrade those.

Buy as much malevolent gear as you can by capping conquest points each week. Also, get ready to have honor cap and jp cap ( to change it to honor ) by 5.2 to buy the rest of the gear. As you know, 5.2 will bring no more upgrades to gear.

the honor chest has 70 res/pvp power over the upgrade live chest.
but the upgrade live chest has
140 Int
229 Sta
89 Spi
141 Armor
101 Haste (0.24%)

so the upgrade malv is better simple.
