Video Card Help

I am building a new computer and I have been looking at the video cards. I have it fairly narrowed down at the moment.

Gimme some opinions and stuff. I don't see a huge difference between the two except prices.

The difference is the "FTW" edition
It is essentially a 670 playing the role of a 680. It is overclocked, has a non stock cooler and a longer board.

Personally I think it's silly to buy an OC'd card when you have the ability to do it yourself, the only advantage is buying it OC'd you get some support and warranty from the manufacturer.
With that said if you want to pay $90 more for a 3-4% FPS increase and the increased support the FTW edition but, if you want the better value the go with the plain 670 and play the silicone lottery and overclock it yourself and maybe get the same performance.

Hold off till after gpu technology conference in mid march. 600 series prices may or may not drop.

EVGA's FTW cards are higher binned and have been pretested to guarantee their clocks. If you were to purchase a standard GTX 670, you may or may not have a whole lot of overclock room. Regardless if you win or lose the lottery, you would be greatly held back by the reference cooler of the card listed above.

EVGA is a great brand with great support/warranty, but they are not exactly great overclockers. Be it the reference design cooler or a semi-reference cooler(The FTW card linked above), they are not on par with other brand coolers (Asus, MSI, Gigabyte) in terms of noise and effective cooling.

So which would really be the better decision?

If you could elaborate on what you need it for and what resolution you play at..

You could possibly save money on a cheaper card without losing out on a whole lot.
Also, are intending to explore overclocking at any point with the card?
