Wildstar looks nothing like WoW. The graphical style is completely different. Yes their both cartoony, but Wildstar's graphics are way different than WoW's.

Meh... He's probably just fishing. I do hope Carbine doesn't screw it up though. The last few years of mmorpg's have been pretty disappointing in my opinion.

5 posts in, account was created likely yesterday. I don't really expcet a grand future for this user id. I mean...look at their first 5 posts. Pretty much all of them are one line game bashes with no followup. Best to just report them and wait for the ID to go away.

Anyways...hoping for something interesting today. While I'm not getting any more or less antsy about the game, I know it is the MMO I'm waiting for. So...I just want it to be released. I have plenty of MMOs in the backlog as I was discussing with HK-Bard yesterday, so I shouldn't be in a hurry.

And why, it's almost the same as WoW, the layout. People left WoW For Rift, cause its not a big change, it was a safe change. Only thing different is the graphic, and other things, such as World events, questing, bla bla.

Wouldn't every hotkey based MMO in the style of Everquest be "the same as WoW" in a superficial manner?

Many games share gameplay aspects- particularly within a given genre. The granularity of gameplay can be quite different, however.

Such as Wildstar here. Which is also a hotkey based MMO with RPG elements and conventions of the genre such as quests, vertical power scaling and item upgrades, et cetera.

Video games are by the nature of their production, iterative.

Yeah, I'm hoping for meatier W*W's too but the big stuff is probably being saved for the conventions.

That "most" of their playerbase can't attend. I fail to see the logic. Not that i understand the fine sciency of video game reveals, hype etc. Just my opinion.

Most of the journalists that will publicize their game can attend though...so...that's the part you aren't accounting for.

I'm pretty sure there's world pvp, they just don't have any objectives for it.

I do NOT care bout objectives. I just want to take a road in the middle of a desert and make it my road killing everyone willing to cross it, for example. Whats the point of a two faction game if you are going to screw world pvp with this kind of features. Adding flying mount must be the worst idea they could have, even if we could dismount them, the possibilities to find another max. lvl player get reduced by the z axis and the speed of the mount. But hey, world pvp is only about killing lowbies...

Pvp gear is only obtainbale by arena rating. Seriously, there is not mmo a single mmorpg balanced and they think they will achieve it, but they will fail at balance . So people joining them will see the unbalance of the pvp and will just quit.

you have 3 individual ratings for gear.. and there is also a rating free open pvp sign up (you still play people in similar gear)

Well, it's just foolish to ever have concern for balance in an asymmetrical PVP system. No video game with asymmetrical PVP is balanced.

It wouldn't make sense otherwise.
