    I think it's pretty obvious.
Glaive toss only makes up about 5% of a hunters total dps on a single target fight anyway.... and if you were using an arcane shot instead(which has the chance to proc the tier bonus while glaive toss doesn't) you'd probably only be losing about 1% of your total dps anyway. So don't really agree with either of your possibilities.

Sure, but a) you need to have 4pc and b) it's one shot you're moving from AS to GT. There's simply no defense for not using GT over AS when it's available. Whether GT is the correct 90 talent to take on a fight is a different issue, but not using any of them is a net loss to DPS.

Bovan - while I agree with your sentiment, the OP posted then vanished for a bit and did the "this hunter ranks" without links etc so it really did feel iffy for a bit. It was especially puzzling since no hunter who ranks and seriously theorycrafts would ever contend that using a 90 talent would be a DPS loss.

The RPPM system doesn't work like that. You don't get more procs if you fire more AS. If you fire 20 AS a minute, or fire 16 AS per minute + 4 GT per minute, you have the same chance to proc per minute - the 16 have a slightly higher chance to proc than the 20 individual AS. If you only fired 1 AS in that minute, that 1 AS would have a much higher proc chance. It's all adjusted on the fly.

If this raider is truly concerned with button bloat, there is still a solution he can use which will not bloat buttons.

He could just use a simple cast sequence macro, and use glaive toss always. While barrage is better on certain fights, I'd argue that using glaive toss with 0 extra effort or keybinds is better than not using any level 90 talent at all. This raider could use the following macro, bind it to his arcane shot key bind, and incorporate glaive toss with NO added effort:

    #show
/castsequence reset=15 glaive toss, arcane shot, arcane shot, arcane shot, arcane shot, arcane shot, arcane shot, arcane shot, arcane shot, arcane shot, arcane shot, arcane shot, arcane shot, arcane shot, arcane shot

I believe this to be an acceptable compromise for all parties involved. Aside from making the macro and binding it to his arcane shot bind, this will require zero extra effort on the raiding hunter's part. He will be making use of glaive toss, which as has been explained previously in the thread, is essentially the same as arcane shot but hits harder. The guild leader will be at ease knowing that his prized hunter will not be encumbered with extra responsibility. It will essentially be a dps increase with no cost (unless if somehow all your macro slots are full).

For anyone who already is used to using separate binds for glaive toss and arcane shot and may think this macro would be good to use, don't bother. You will lose glaive toss uses around readiness. You will also lose the ability to use barrage, which is useful on several fights as has been pointed out.

maybe someone can make a cast sequence macro for him to mash on his arcane shot slot?
i dont see how this would make him lose anything. for glaive toss ofc
