I still find it very likely for him to drop a corrupted version of Gorehowl for players. Will be an epic though.

Possible. Gorehowl is just a regular axe, so there's no reason to stop players getting it like with Frostmourne/Ashbringer.

I agree, I think it'll drop as an epic.
I mean, it would be such an iconic weapon? Not as important as lets say ashbringer ect, but still, we can obtain one already (Uncorrupted) Don't see why we couldn't obtain the corrupted version.
Either way super excited to see if it does drop.

Gorehowl from the beginning was pure, demon blood corrupted it's original user. And now.... an Old God corrupts the Axe. In the end......it will forever be a shameful weapon.

That would be two expacs in a row where the last tier featured a crap load of old god-corruption themed weapons. And the second time in a row it would be a major disappointment. Notice how that was *not* the case in terms of design for AQ40 or Ulduar? Was there a lot of pushback where players were saying "y'know, that was great, but I really wish there had been more weapons with moving eyeballs or tentacles"?

Back in beta an item was datamined to purify a sha-touched weapon. We all assumed it was the 5.0 sha-touched weapons.


Calling it now. The Wrathion chain ends with the rise of the new Warchief, rather than with killing Garrosh (killing Garrosh would actually be about the middle of this chain). And you get the Breath of the Black Prince then, which is used to purify one of the epic weapons (this being one of them) that Garrosh drops into a legendary that can have both a legendary gem and a crown of heaven put on it.
