When AOEing with multishot+beastcleave do you guys use Focus Fire or leave the pet with Frenzy stacks?

Always use FF when its on 5 stacks. UNLESS you have bestial wrath active. Before or after is fine, but its a dps loss to use a gcd with it active.

The reason i ask is that when AOEing BeastCleave is by far the most damage done, so increased pet attack speed should equal more beastcleave strikes.

On the flip side, the focus restoration component grants your pet an extra basic attack (Bite/Smack/Claw) which is spread by Beast Cleave, and the ranged haste you receive then subsequently boots your pet's focus regeneration as well. So you're trading autoattacks for more Bite/Smack/Claw damage. Should be a dps gain for AoE just like it is with single target.

its because your pet gain focus when you cast FF, so the basic attack is losing vs hitting more for more with specials is a dps gain.

as someone said, as long as you are no under BW hit it as soon as you see 5 stacks. well take into account that this is with PPM trinkets and set, meta.

Because it uses up a GCD and during BW you want to spam as many shots as possible to take advantage of increased damage and reduced focus cost.

Uh, not really. It's because the buff to pet damage during BW means you'll get more damage overall by letting your pet have the extra haste.

No.. with the blink strikes change, pet's specials hit like trucks (which are unaffected by frenzy stacks.. which is just more attack speed and not focus regen).. if they took it off the gcd we'd use that shit all day..
