    How much FPS w/ i5 3450 and AMD 7850

How much FPS would I get in WoW w/ an i5 3450 and an AMD 7850? I am building a PC for a friend and he is really trying to make the build as budget as possible, but he wants to have a decent gaming experience. Does anyone have experience in cities or battlegrounds, etc?

I understand there are better options - especially "bang for your buck" type of deals - but he wants to maintain a low-end budget.

He would be running on ultra settings with shadow turned off or low. Also why are you getting the 3450? Change it to 3470..
    8700K (5GHz) - Z370 M5 - Mugen 5 - 16GB Tridentz 3200MHz - GTX 1070Ti Strix - NZXT S340E - Dell 24' 1440p (165Hz)

I honestly don't know. I know the 3450 is good, but didn't even see the 3470 on amazon/newegg XD. Thank you very much.

Perhaps theres a microcenter near your friend?

150 $ is a very fine deal. I think they do a motherboard/cpu combo also.

I have i5 2500k and a 7850, ultra on wow and guild wars 2 highest settings runs just as smoothly. Only thing that's managed to lag me out at all is Oondasta when there was some 400 people there..

    No :/

I live in FL. (He does as well) The closest Microcenter is close to 800 miles away/1288km. The U.S. is a big place and Florida is very long longitudinally.

Can I know what driver you're using? I'm not having anywhere as close to those numbers.

A 3470 + 650 Ti Boost should be more cost effective.

The listed specs should push ~50 FPS in 25m raids at Ultra and 90+ everywhere else. Not sure about cities though.

    Specs: i5 3450/7850/4GB.

    ~80fps in 25m, ~100 in 10m, ~60-70fps in overcrowded cities @ medium-high/8x.

Anything below 70-80fps is unacceptable to me, while raiding/pvping/whatever. So ye, it totally works.

    /E:
Wow, old thread. I could use some more coffee.

What? I had a 5,0 GHz i7 2700k, 7970 GHz and 8 GB of ram and was never close to 60 fps in raiding, do you have everything on low? Just some massive bull or wow for better optimized from December .. I remember frames down to 30 in 25 man raiding.. No the CPU was never too hot, neither was the gpu / memory.

650 Ti Boost is a touch slower in most things. Don't know about prices http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/778?vs=782

Shadows/Particle Density on low/good. Shadows will especially eat up your fps. And Particle Density on anything higher than good, as melee, is just bullshit.

Decent drivers, x64, dx11 and not having a million fucking apps running in the background helps aswell.

Yea if your melee you won't notice particle density that much unless you like looking at casters spells.

Not really. In most games they're pretty even, in AMD optimized games (like a lot of the ones listed) the 7850 is a little better, in nvidia favoring games, the 650 TI boost is better. WoW being one of these games.
