So I got into promotion to Silver I today, played with an RL friend who was in his promotion to Silver IV.
First match I get to play Thresh, since the enemy team luckily didn't pick him when I decided not to ban him. Of course, it would have helped that my ADC didn't go derp Vayne who "beats everyone" (she did not), our team was just overall worse and we lost.
So I said "fuck it" and went for the big roles. 11/3/4 Darius top. 7/0/8 Karma mid. Won my promotion. Hooray for "secret OP" champs!

I was up against Fizz.
Our teams were:
Jax top, Karma mid, Amumu jungle, Tristana and Leona bot
vs.
Yorick top, Fizz mid, Lee jungle, Vayne and Zyra bot
To be fairly honest, I expected to lose that match since their team looked so much stronger, and not to mention Fizz owns anyone squishy. Jax's match-up wasn't that good either. But I was positively surprised, my team was actually pretty good and we beat them hard.
I like Karma a lot. She doesn't have the damage of some other mid-laners, but she has that support-touch that I love.
