Your pet is autocasting dash which costs focus. Only use it when you need it (until next patch where they are removing the focus cost).

You really need to cast KC on CD. You are losing a lot of damage. On jinrokh you casted a KC every ~7.8 seconds. The lower that number the better. You also aren't using GT enough. Your FF usage could be better.

I can't really see anything else.

Sometimes I delay KC as much as 2 sec if BW is coming off of CD. I also delay FF until out of BW if i gain 5 stack with only 20-22 sec left of BW CD. Is this where I am losing alot of my dps?

Never delay kill command. If you delay BW by 4 seconds you wont totally lose out on one (well, in most cases). You should just use FF whenever you get 5 stacks or if it's about to run out. The only exception being to not do it during BW. You are losing a lot of FFs by delaying it by that much.

Would someone who is way more knowledgeable about hunters please tell me what he can do to improve? I noticed that all of his gear is not upgraded, which is on him, and I will be talking to him about it. Any tips you can give as far as CD management, rotation/priority, etc would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

The basics:

Reforging/gemming is pretty much fine. Talent choices are fine, though if he's underperforming I would suggest changing A Murder of Crows to Blink Strikes since it is not only easier to use but sometimes a sim DPS gain, resulting in a non-trivial practical gain.

The important stuff:

I decided to look at his Jin'rokh fight, since it's very Patchwerk and it's hard to make excuses for poor performance. Before I look at his priorities/etc., I noticed his damage goes down a lot during what I would guess are Lightning Storm phases. He's a hunter. If there's any class that can safely damage the boss at full potential during Lightning Storm, it's a hunter.

Now for comparisons and priority analysis. I compared his logs to mine. It's not a fair comparison, since I'm 546 and he's 541, but our kill times for Jin'rokh are actually very similar so it's not totally unfair, and it should give us a good idea of his problems.

Large CD usage:

He uses BW the same amount as I do, which is good (note that CompareBot shows that I only used it three times, but that's because I used it before the pull ). He also uses Rapid Fire the same amount. So, all is fine here.

General ability usage:

That's kinda where things start to go downhill, though. Compare Arcane Shots between us; I cast Arcane Shot twice as often as him. You might think, then, that he's just casting more Cobra Shots for whatever reason, but no, that's not the case, I also have more Cobra Shots. His Serpent Sting uptime is sub-par; it should be 95%+, but it's below 80%. I cast about an extra Kill Shot per minute. His Glaive Toss usage isn't bad though; the optimal amount is 4, and his is 3.5, so that's plenty good enough.

His most significant issue is his Kill Command usage, which is on the Pet page. He casts 7.7 Kill Commands per minute; the optimal number is 10, and I managed 9.6.

So let's tally up the issues: Arcane Shot is not being cast enough, Kill Command is not being cast on CD, Cobra Shot is not being cast enough, Serpent Sting uptime is sub-par.

I would suggest picking up an addon to track his cooldowns and debuffs for him, such as Weak Auras. As the problem almost always seems to be, he's not casting his abilities often enough. Mash those keys!

I'm like 81.3% sure that in recount pet damage IS included in auto attacks, but then I haven't used recount in ages because skada ftw, still I got used to it in my early days and so I've always assumed that it's the case for all meters (until you go deeper into the kill command stats etc where obviously it's separate).

And while we're at it and in the fix my dps thread, if someone could have a look at that Lei Shen fight and give me some feedback, would be much appreciated, especially since we'll be trying it HC next week and if I can beat those mages and rogues on any fight, it should be Lei Shen right? It's only normal but I think that particular fight is as much patchwerk as it can get in tot, so a good dps check.

The other is your other dps that isn't being shown if you mouseover your dps (in your case glaive toss, kill shot, etc.).

Click the dropdown arrow next to your name to see your pets and that is their damage.

Also recount has a detailed overview of your pet's attacks, not just auto attacks.

Other than that I can't really see anything wrong with your log.

We raided almoust whole tier without att power buff so we decided that i will change from monk to hunter since i was onlyone who had decent geared alt who could give att power. However Wednesday i had my first raid and i felt that i didnt do even nearly as much damage as i should.

I had 527 ilvl and only 2 set bonus when we started the raid but still i was pulling rly low amount dps like you can see from logs.
I did very little aoe dps on horridon, tortos etc so that explains low dps in those fights (single targetting adds, killing turtles).
I think i dont use Kc enough, couple time realized it had been off from cd 1-2 sec before using. Also i forgot to use Kill shot couple times and i had dash on autocast.
Couple times i used Rabid fire AND Focus fire while lust was on.

Is there any other things i did wrong? Btw didnt check my serpent sting uptime

I recently picked up playing my hunter again and figured I would try out beastmastery to mix things up a little. I have problems maintaining even 80k dps on target dummies, yet I have no idea why. here is an image of my skillbars aswell: i.imgur.com/bTFwBsI.png

are there any moves missing? I also tried out the addon "Bitten's SpellFlash: Hunter" wich lights up moves to use, but that didnt seem to work out either.

In overall my dps is not so bad. But we have two hunters in group (10H). And second hunter (Sernikk) is better than me. I want to figure what am I doing wrong...
