So is it pointless getting that or should I still get it I heard most games are optimized for Nvidia rather than AMD

At that price range, it's moist likely either the GTX760 or the 7950 (unless you spot a bargain and can bag a 7970.)

Cooling solutions. If you aren't overclocking the card it doesn't matter a lot.
