If I recall, the groups that ran in the Barrens would all gank you if you attacked one of em. Plus, you got the quest to kill them rather early, and you were probably too low to fight them for the quest.

Yeah, it was great. The first time playing this game was absolutely amazing for me.

I'm not gonna sit here and pretend that BC leveling was better than it was in Wrath, but I will say that for the most part, I hated the quest progression in the updated zones in Cataclysm. The Barrens specifically, was horrible.

Maybe, but I really enjoyed it. Doing it the third/fourth/fifth/sixth times maybe got tiring, though.

I concur. The change to the world (or just the Cataclysm expansion in general) is definitely up there as the worst things Blizz have yet done.

Along with Mastery, Talent/spec changes and Buff changes. Urgh.

Still the best MMO there is. Which is, in many ways, incredibly sad.

Mastery is fine. It only adds to the game. Talent/spec changes and streamlining of buffs takes away from the game.
