They are a far right movement that is simply the Republicans times two. It may have started off with better intentions, but has been corrupted and abused by the Republican system and many Republicans who used to be considered too crazy or not practical now have a voice. These are the same people who will continue to say that Obamacare has gone against the constitution. This is also a law that not only went through every single procedure legally and by the method the constitution pans out, but was also upheld by the Supreme Court. The main Republicans (Tea Party) that orchestrated the shut down represented a small fragment of the U.S. They have scared other Republicans shitless and they have to go along with what they want in fear of losing a primary to their own party for not being conservative enough. There is no moderate Tea Party platform or politician and that is frightening. A country should never adhere to extremes.
We have people who scream and shout over welfare, healthcare, schools, and other public needs because of a few people who may abuse the system in some way. They still rally behind our government when we put trillions into wars we cannot win, and spend more than every other country combined on their military. They are fine with homelessness because they don't want to help thy neighbor, but will vilify any Muslim walking down the street, or any girl who may want a birth control pill to help regulate her hormones(Remember the whole Rush fiasco?). They will praise the lord when they see two men kissing and will condemn those men to hell, but not before they sleep with someone other than their S.O. They cling to their guns and shut up all who oppose them. They want the NSA to keep them safe, while throwing away all other liberties they have. They don't deserve either.
I am not even talking about the Tea Party, they are just a symptom of a greater issue. Americans have lost their way. We live in a country where having a military budget greater than the rest of the world combined in a relative time of peace, is more important and more acceptable than giving small amounts of welfare, food stamps, healthcare, education, and more.
