"ProgramName v2.x" does not mean "ProgramName II". it is merely an indicator of the version of that one program, starting with "0.x" in pre-release stages. WoW II, should it ever come, will of course also go through version numbers like "v0.4.11.1237" or "v1.5.x".

I wanted to mean that people generally see XXX 2, XXX 3 as the only way to renew a franchise. With persistent worlds like MMORPGs, this ancient naming model is not relevant anymore.
