"...money's most powerful ability is to allow bad people to continue doing bad things at the expense of those who don't have it."
What, Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo weren't enough? *gasp*
Cameron Diaz comes to mind. Then again, everything about her breakout role in The Mask (and a few after) screamed "ascended pornstar."Very few actors start in porn, especially these days when such things come to light so easily. The industry (and society) is pretty prudish about that.

So... a B-movie actor!
/snark
anyone who thinks this is going to be a heavy plot based movie is silly.
Legendary rarely has heavy plot based movies. Their movies are a 2-3 hour spectacle of epic and beautiful war and killing, with lots of heroic moments and brutal deaths. I honestly expect 300: warcraft. and oh will I be happy to see it
Viggo Mortensen a nobody? A History of Violence and Eastern Promises? I realise these are "older" movies, but still pretty mainstream. He is a pretty strange guy though, so I don't think he goes chasing after the mainstream movies too much.
But at any rate, imo it's better to not hire a-list actors, and let the movie carry itself instead of letting the a-list actor(s) define the movie.

People need to realize quickly that good acting is good acting. A lot of people can do it. There are A list actors that dont have two brain cells to rub together. They are A list actors because they got very very lucky and got into a good first role, under a good director.
Wanna know what makes a good movie? It is the director. Not the actors, any dipstick can act.
Most movies are on dvd that quick now. It is however, a movie with a very small fan base in hollywood terms. Most blockbusters open with 5x the entire wow player base the first weekend. I wouldn't expect it to be a blockbuster or be in theaters very long.

Not even remotely true. There are about 50 good actors on the planet. Put average actors in a movie and it doesn't do anywhere near as well as if it had actors that made you believe it was happening (drew you in).
Apply blizzards model to any other subscription service, you'd be outraged:
Netflix adds no new movies for a year, you click a new movie, there's a $5 fee.
You're in an accident, click your onstar button, but there's an addition $20 fee for them to help.
You turn on your tv only to find all you get are the infomercial channels. Every other show is pay per view.
See how dumb that model is?
We don't... We don't speak of that... motion picture

Oh so very true. I will give you one example. Mark Whalberg, he is an excellent actor? No? yeah, what was that movie called. The happening? Yeah. Enough said
Here's another Jennifer Connelly. Wanna know what she started out in? Go look it up. Then go watch a beautiful mind. All about a director's ability to move and motivate their actors
Definitely too negative. Mortensen is taking a deliberate break from films, but he is a top-tier A lister for sure. He got quite popular after LotR with A History of Violence, and even nearly won a friggen Oscar with Eastern Promises half a decade after LotR. The Road is still generating buzz on Netflix and in other places.
Looking forward to the actors, if not that many bad things have been said about them other than the guy in True Blood... but I think that show's probably gone a bit crazy in general. I don't watch.
Dominic Cooper seems like he has a lot of potential. Walked in on my folks watching Dead Man Down while visiting on holidays, and it was really light watching (pretty shallow), but he certainly stood out as somewhat convincing.
Ben Foster was a good choice, these other guys I'm not very familiar with.
Shrug. Every aspiring actor looks at roles in that way.
He's been in something like 300 films.
But you had to like the kind of films he was in to know him. Also he was more famous in Britain.
P.S. Christopher Lee is fucking awesome, read a bio on him some time. He's even cooler IRL.
people hang up on actors not having that much credit, think about it - Viggo Mortensen didn't have much real work behind him before LOTR and then he made the best fucking Aragorn ever.
I am sure Metzen will be on set or visit the set often to make sure they are following character profiles.
Rob Kazinsky was also in Blade if i remember correctly, if not Blade then some other Vampire movie...
Imo, the cast is looking pretty good so far, and what people seem to forget, is actors need good movie performances to be considered better than B List, maybe the Warcraft movie will make one of the actors in it a bit bigger.. even then, its still got over a year before it starts filming, thats plenty of time for one of them to bring out a big movie, starring, or co starring with another top actor.. as far as im aware only one of them hasn't worked with a big movie name, and thats the guy from Vikings.
Thing is, they all have experience, which is the main thing... they arent completely unproven... we just need a good story to be honest.
