<vodka> to return to raiding in Warlords of Draenor

vodka is pleased to announce that we will be raiding in Warlords of Draenor

We are currently playing on the most heavily populated alliance server Stormrage. We have decided to go back to our roots and play Alliance!

This time around, our guild will be more casual. We will be raiding 4 days a week, starting at 8 PM EST to 1:00 AM EST (Monday - Thursday). We will still be competing against the worlds best guilds but at our new pace. Over the breakup and the past few years we realized that we all wanted to enjoy the game together and have fun. Playing casually was one of the only ways to make that dream a reality. We have a lot of old members coming back to join the ranks and many new ones as well. We look forward to sharing our experiences with you and doing our best!

As a side note, we will be holding off on recruitment for the time being.

    Thanks
    vodka
The post on their website can be seen here.

As well as an interview with some of its members here at Manaflask.

Good to see them back, and them coming back as Alliance makes it even better.

This has got me thinking of how much Mythic raiding is appealing to major guilds like this. Seeing all the top tier guilds compete on the same raid setting is going to great. It's also cool to see some growth for a change, rather than see more of the world class guilds falling apart.

They aren't coming back due to Mythic raiding. They are coming back because they want to play with friends again and have fun.

Should be interesting to see how they progress against the other top guilds after reforming, and i don't think 20 hours a week raiding is casual.

    Yeah.

Pretty sure raiding 20 hours a week isn't very casual.

It's nice to see another reputable Alliance guild though. They won't be competing for world firsts, but should still do quite well. Probably better than many guild who will be raiding more hours than them.

im glad to see them coming back, but with so many of their best raiders already in new homes, I wouldn't expect anything amazing. Good guilds aren't born through guild names. It takes time to get the right people.

I think it's more so the fact that they aren't requiring mass amounts of alts for their progression. But I do agree, they might be stretching that casual title a little too much.

    They said "more casually"

50 hours a week is "more casually" than 51 hours a week

It's been a thing since vanilla. People used to spend HOURS in BWL or MC on just 1-2 bosses and trash.

    This.

They USED to raid for what, up to 8 hours a day? Have MASSIVE amounts of geared alts.

This is going to be a 20 hour week with maybe one alt each. Thats a huge step down for world first raiders during that initial race period.

they must have done several faction and server swaps, i remember when they were alliance on mannoroth, because of them it was the first PVP server to unlock the AQ gates barely behind Medivah-PVE server, however vodka was first to fully clear AQ-40 and see some content/mobs that was later removed by blizzard that was deemed to hard

Yeah, it looks like they're adopting something similar to Midwinters schedule. I think it's a good move, hopefully they enjoy their time.

Glad to hear of some old faces coming back.

20 hours isn't casual sure, but, it's casual to them, that's the point.

I wish my old guild Dissidence would reform, I'd be up for it in a heartbeat, looking at armory, most of them are still at 80

    Good luck to them!

compared to seven days a week for hours on end it is very casual. I will say the top guilds are more casual than casual guilds not, but that's after progression. During progression it's all or nothing, and personally I feel like that mentality is too much. Especially with the last tier. You "beat the game" in a way ok maybe the expansion within the first two months, and have 4-10 months before the next tier or expansion.

I still believe that Manno should get credit for being world first, because of the entire lvl 1 character creation scandal and queue blocking stuff.

While I agree with you, according to thousands of posters on this website playing 20 hours a week is casual as long as you aren't a heroic raider.... if you are a heroic raider and play 5 hours a week, you are super hardcore though.
