Why I can't raid anymore

This may sound like I'm whining, and I am in a way, but today on Timeless Isle I was helping 4 others kill a burning berzerker to get to Cinderfall. I was at full health and suddenly I fell over dead. I sat there going "WTH"??? Then, a full 2 seconds later, I see the berzerker charge me for 520k damage. This type of thing happens often. The red circles on Iron Juggernaut? I can never avoid the damage. Even in lfr if I stand there and wait for the red circles and start running right away, get out of the circle and continue to run, I ALWAYS take the damage. Several times my dead body will be 5+ yards away from the edge of the circle. This is just so frustrating...

From what I have read, this is caused by lag from my computer to the server. My latency runs about 70-90ms. I have 25mb connection to the internet. I don't know what, if anything, I can do about this - except to continue to refrain from raiding. Been playing for 5 1/2 years and raiding was the only thing that kept me playing.

Any suggestions??

Packet loss. If on windows, press winkey+R, type cmd, type ping -t google.com and let it run for a while, Ctrl-C to stop it and see statistics. Do it while playing, alt-tab to it after you die like that, check for lost packets - if so, talk to your provider.

Does your latency never spike up from that 80ms average ? Particularly after one of these deaths ?

First thing i would check in a situation like this. Is checking addons to see if any of them causes any troubles.
25 mbit connection may still give you lag with poor routing tho. If you have some weird connection routes on the way to the server. But 70-90 ms is a tad bit high, But not so high that you cant avoid damage. I play on about 60 ms and have no issues what so ever

You should be totally able to avoid stuff at 90ms. Anything below 600ms is doable (PvE wise)

I'd kill for that latency. I'm in far off lands and if mine drops below 200 I think its Christmas.

I tried the path ping test. First I tried the google one mentioned above. 3 tests - no packet loss. After some more research, I found the path-ping test on the Blizzard support site that allows you to ping to the server you are on. I had packet loss on each test (again 3 tests). This was the first test:

try a program like Wtfast, it will usually solve any packet loss issues you got, if thats the problem

A friend of mine had similar problems. He switched from Wlan to cable and spoke with his provider about altency and lost packages. I don´t know what finally sealed it, but now he is issue free.
