I just got this message when I tried to log in. I havn't done anything wrong except for calling this one guy an idiot yesterday in a random dungeon because he couln't tank, was half afk and casued me to die three times. Then I proceeded to call his friend an idiot too for not healing me and backing the other guy up. What, I had a bad day, ok?

That can't be reason enough to get banned, right? >.>

I cliked the link but it's not even working, it just redirects me to the WoW Game Guide.

I did not recieve any email either, the only indication that I am banned is when logging in and in my account page on battle.net.

Anyone else have this problem?

Edit: Let me paraphrase it. Some people are sensitive. I've gotten a couple of bans for things I said ingame as well. Most people don't really care either way if someone goes into rage/swear mode, but some do. And Blizzard bans people that get reported on that topic.

Now I also had runs where everyone was swearing and shitting all over eachother, be it friendly banter or serious nerdrage which have NOT made me get banned. But that doesn't mean it's not a bannable offense.

Sounds like you got a 1 or 2 day ban. Try opening a ticket on battle.net and appeal your ban (is appeal the right word? :S)

First time you get a 3 hour ban, second time you get a longer one 24-48.

OP is hiding something if it was a ban that's longer than 3 hours. Either he went full nerdrage onto the poor guy or he has a track record of being a dick.

As much as I'm sure we'd all like to it be sometimes, just being a jerk isn't enough to earn a ban. There may be more to the story (e.g., there's a big difference between "idiot" and "[insert favorite profanity here] idiot", or "you idiot, I'm going to come to your house and kill you"), or it could be a mistake.

Either way, I'd suggest calling blizzard, or using the live chat on the battle.net website. Get more info, appeal the ban if relevant, and learn your lesson if it's something legit.

Hey Jesus, I want to see you having to corpse run to an instance three times in 5 minutes and paying gold for repairs because one tank did not bother to research, practice, or learn how to tank before joining an instance with other real people and wasting their time because he doesn't care, and staying polite like the queen. Did you check the spam folder i your inbox ? ...mail likely ended there.

And it sounds like you deserved a slap ...... also if its longer then 3 hours ( the ban ) you have seen the ban hammer before ....

No, that is not enough to get you banned. IF.....you really just said "idiot" and didnt add in fucking idiot or dumb shit or something like that. if that was your final strike and you said more than what you are telling us. then its may be possible. sorry mate
