I think it WILL be the choppa! However...if the expack gets pushed back enough, it is a distinct possibility that we will get PvP Season XY as a mercy gift while we wait for it.

Because it isn't downsized at all....
WoW is a project that expands continuously. Even if an expansion would be small, which has never been the case, it would still be a size increase...
Hence the name EXPANSION.....
And since every expansion is weaved into the already present content, it's impossible to see it isolated.

I see what you mean. They have more past and present content each time by proxy, because they still have to tend the old content.

Okay. What if they let you skip the old content instead of updating it? (lvl90 boost)What if the new expansion does turn out smaller (I'm not saying WoD will be, but maybe further down the road). Does maintaining the past and present code alone mean continually more effort, even if they aren't renovating old content anymore?

That's a good point, that system maintenance is ever-expanding, I didn't think of that. Is it automatically enough to equal more development time, though?
