He was first a male tauren, then later I race-changed him into a male orc. No, I wouldn't say I'm attracted to him at all.

A bit on my female goblin priest, sure. But as my characters are projections of myself, she was meant to make myself feel pretty and succeeded at it. Same as my main is meant to make me feel like a powerful old school warrior.
Now you see it. Now you don't.

    But was where Dalaran?

Female Panda.. She's cute and all, but not sure I'd say I was attracted to her.

Ya when i make a female character in any game i always make her perfect. Usually simple blond ponytail with delicate and little make up. If the game allows me to il spend 45min building most time spent on the damn cheek bones and nose.

I have a male gnome, but I see him more as a friend Moreover, I take great care to make my characters as ugly as possible, while I know people that would spend 30 min + to make their character as sexy as possible...

My main is a female panda with an outfit I can't quite get right. I'm a gay male who is not into bestiality. So nope...now my rogue...she is dead sexy...spent too much time on her xmog. If I'm gonna mass murder people I'm gonna look pretty doing it :P

I have a soft spot for my fem human Rogue.

What? It's not my fault she's wearing leather pants all the time.

My main is a male human Paladin, so no, not attracted. I model the character after what I would like to be though....kind, generous, courageous, merciful, selfless, helpful, etc. As I struggle with those things in RL, I use him as a kind of role model, which may sound weird, but there it is.

Look, you didn't quite understand my point, and granted you probably haven't studied much of philosophy so I won't try to explain how your statement is identifying that you don't understand.

But, to answer your question, if I didn't find myself attractive... then I think I'd have some seriously low self-esteem issues.

But also, you are again wrong on thinking the personality of a character is: you.

    That is just wrong.

Yes, it is "you" who created the "personality," but it is just 100% wrong to think the personalities are congruent.

If you are actually interested in the irony I was pointing out, I suggest you research questions on "proof of reality." Because spoiler: you can't prove any "person" is more real than an "image of a person" (or a spoon for that matter).

If we were talking about a different game, like maybe TERA, then I could see the possibility. But not with these current character models, eww.

Uh... Never. For the same reason why I don't find cartoons or anime characters hot. It's all fake and full of pixels. It's a game about war, so I made a character that looks like he's seen a fair bit of war. My intentions were to make a badass looking character, not "Oh, how I wish I could romantically kiss my darling character."

Well, I'm a Male Tauren (shaman), I'd like to think we'd be bro's because they're into nature and I'm a Buddhist. If people are attracted to their characters and do quirky things, who is anyone to judge? It isn't for me, but if that makes them happy go for it.

Though, thinking about it, even though he's my bro I think he has a thing for female Taurens. He flex's way too often.

Only on MMOChamp will you find people so putridly judgmental and in denial. Incredible.

Uh, are we talking sexual attraction? Like... to a game character?

Hmm, even in my most open minded of moments I can't take that seriously so I'm going to assume you're asking "Are you happy with the way your character turned out physically?" In which case, no, but after a few minutes in the WoD model viewer, I'm super stoked and more than satisfied with the Dwarf update.

Look. You made a silly poll and now you want to cloak it in all kinds of quasi philosophical BS. I get it......this is your defense mechanism to being challenged on your conjecture. Not going to play. If you feel attraction to your character model that is all well and good. I and a lot of other people are not. And while you're at it.....check and see if you can prove otherwise.

My main is a Male Orc who prolly looks like a battlescared mess.

Though i might fuck my female priest belf if i was into fucking pixels LOL

I don't think you get it. And you clearly didn't look up what I asked you to.

Calling Solipsism (look it up), a well regarded and entry level philosophical study, "quasi philosophical BS" and my "conjecture" makes you look... well... uneducated would be a nicer term.

Talking about real issues is not a "defense mechanism." I am trying to educate a prejudice against something that, in fact, every single person on Earth does. This is not a pseudo-science. We all can be attracted to what is not "real" say: an image of a beautiful man/woman.

And really, this is just a huge, narrow minded, mistake for the connotation of "attraction." Really, you and many others are mistaking attraction to: sexual attraction .

It is perfectly understandable that you might infer this from the context of my question. But this does not give the right to imply this is my question.

I will try to prove your guilt, as you have ask, by using the transitive property where I can.

    1. You used an emoticon:
    2. This infers you can, in fact, have pixels represent a human form.
    3. You have stated you are attracted to the human form, as represented by "real" humans, but all the same bouncing light hitting your retinas, signaling your brain.
    4. If I were to create a "character model" whose "pixels" are so fine you could not see them individually, hook up, say a futuristic Oculus (that might completely "trick" your precious eyes) to your face and present you with a fictitious, albeit incredibly "lifelike," 3d model of a woman/man (whatever your into) whose characteristics you are most attracted to....
    5. Then by the transitive property: you can be attracted to a character.

That is: You have made it apparent you can anthropomorphize pixels as representations to humans --> you are attracted to humans --> futuristic pixel created lifelife human model is subjected to your eyes in a vital space just as lifelife, surrounding your vision to give no "cues" to think anything is fake --> you are attracted to models.

Now this is character preservation. You attacked my character (no not my WoW character, in this instance of the word I am talking about my "mental and moral qualities attributed to myself", just so you don't jump the gun), so I felt it necessary to reply, as it seemed you might be educated in the matter, and hopefully learn.

Now I've thoroughly countered every point you have made. If you think I'm so ill-informed, please prove me wrong. This is how science triumphs over "conjecture." Do you see the irony?
