I'm sure sneaking into our country is a crime worthy of having your limbs blown off.

There are people in Afghanistan STILL being killed by landmines planted in the war against the Soviets 40 years ago. I'd like to not see us making the same tragic mistake for an even stupider reason.

There are more humane responses to illegal immigration than blowing people up.

Point isn't their innocence or guilt, it's a matter of national security that the border is left open and nearly unprotected. Land mines, in a marked area that spans the entirety of the US/Mexico border would simply be another form of defense.

More humane responses....yeah, like all the ones that the US has tried and none of them have worked, kinda why we still have a border issue.

If it is made known that the landmines are there and they still go through them then its thier own fault and no one elses. What happens if a terrorist sneaks across the border with a dirty bomb and then it becomes known how he got into the country? Oh then its going to be " the government didnt go far enough"

What happens if a rancher gets blown up? Or a border patrol agent? What about all the money that has to be spent constantly replacing blown up landmines?

The problem with landmines is they dont care who they hit. The could hit an illegal terrorist crossing, or a rancher checking his property that runs right up to the border.
